I have paid insurance on my credit card for over two years, when I tried to activate my benefit after being laid off, the company made it difficult to do so. I repeatedliy faxed and mailed everything that the company asked for and they continuously said they did not received it or that it was the wrong information, and it would be the same information the previously asked for. They reps are not helpful at all, they frustrate you and when I asked to speak to the dept. who receives my docs they tell me they are unable to transfer me to that dept or that no one from that dept can contact me. I asked them to notate my account and they stated they could not do so. They try to prolong the process so they dont have to make payments in my opionion. I wish I would have looked them up before I agreed to get the benefit because now I see how unprofessional and scamful they are. I would not reccomend this to anyone. These people are bad news and the program is a complete ripoff. Im thinking of getting a lawyer to help resolve my issue because I have been going through mess with them for far too long.
To the one star review dated July 23 - if you look on the Merrick Bank website there is information about the PAYS plan and a settlement fund that has been set up for damages. It goes on to state that people who are eligible for compensation will be contacted at the end of 2014 (it was just approved in September I believe). It may not be relevant to your situation but it sounds like this company has done some shady things which is why the class action law suit was filed and won. Hopefully things are looking better for you now. Take care. AN
