I was asked to take someone in my home on respite and PPL would pay me.PPL assinged a facilitor to me and the consumer in my home.The facilitator never came to the home to meet with us like she was supposed to. She faxed all the paper work to me.I did all the paper work that was required of me and sent it in.The consumer was with me for eleven days.When i sent my time sheets in and didnt recieve a checki called PPL. from August 2014 up to today they tell me that the facilitator hasnt sent the consumers paper work through to medicaid and hasnt sent the rest of his papers in for me to be paid.I have had the consumers caseworker sending the facilitator weekly emails to resolve this problem so i can be paid.All she ever says is its not her fault it is PPL mistake. PPL refuses to give me a different facilitator saying to keep on her.Well five months of this going back and forth has got me no where, except being more and more upset and frustrated.I would suggest that anyone ever wanting to work with persons with intlectual disabilities to NEVER work for PPL.
Where to start? Well, I was living in Portland. A little town called Sherwood to be exact. I met my now wife a year and 8 months ago. We dated and did the long distance thing for a year. She lived in Medford which is about 5-6 hour drive. Being as I am self employed and am able to work from home my wife decided to put my name on some of her accounts encluding Pacific Power so in the event something should go wrong or if a customer service rep of any kind needed to speak to my wife, I would be authorized to speak on her behalf. She was not allowed to except phone calls of any kind where she worked this was the reason. My wife did not have my SS# nor my drivers license or any kind of personal information pertaining to me.
Aug. 2013. I had moved down to Medford to be with my wife whome we were going to get married Oct. 2013. I was in her old home for less then a week before I found us a bigger home out in the country. I put the utilities in my corporate name for tax reasons as again, I worked out of my home. A year later, my company suffered a huge loss and I was forced to close my doors. I called Pacific Power to close the account and have it put in my personal name. The rep said my name had been flagged showing a huge bill from a residence I never lived at. I questioned her on this because I never had a bill or lived in Medford before.
She said it was the house my wife lived at. Again, I told her that I never lived there. She said it didn"t matter she was still going to enforce the debt and will not put the utilities in my name or my wifes name and that we were going to get shut down. I was overly Pissed at this and filed a complaint through PUC. I have two children that need electricity.. I can not sit in our home without power! PUC came back and said that Pacific Power had transcripts of me talking to Pacific Power. I asked to listen in on those recordings and they said, it's not recordings. It's hand written transcripts.... "HAND WRITTEN TRANSCRIPTS"? of me speaking to pacific power from 2012-2013?
That is hear say and anyone can write a document and make it look as if you owe money! They did not care... They told me that I had resided at that residence from 2009 to 2013 and even though I had my old lease agreement from Sherwood residence showing I was living their from 2008 to 2013 did not make a bit of difference to them! My wife didn't even live their tell 2011. The rep said I was going to pay all the bills that had accumulated from 09 to 2013 regardless!! This has now forced us to buy a generator to power our home. File a lawsuit with our attorneys office and I am also encluding in my bankruptcy this debt as well. Folks, this is the only power source company here. They do not have an office in Medford anymore so people can't go to an office and actually speak with anyone let alone pay their power bill.
They say they have pay stations all over town but those pay stations have closed too leaving little to know means but to send a check through the mail or pay using a credit card on their web site and hope you don't get shut off! One company with this much power and no competition is just plain shameful!! One company giving all the services without any competition allows companies like Pacific Power with all the power leaving you with little to no recourse. They over bill and over charge their customers and if your name is just entered on an account but you do not reside their they can pull your name and information and then hold you responsible for any debts that are owed on that home or office. They do not care if someone else made the bills of a residence you just moved into because you will end up paying the last renters debts on that residence as i was told.
I can only hope a class action and media coverage ensues during my efforts to bring these lying illegal practises of Pacific Power and other big corporate business to an end!!!
