This company doesn't even deserve one star. They seized my computer while I was on MSNBC website using a Microsoft Logo. Said I needed their help. Once I decided during the hours long process that they were not credible I advised I would dispute their fee with my credit card company which I did and they ruled in my favor. If this happens to you, shut down your computer and call McAfee or Norton who are reliable. A male from this "company" called my home with threats which I recorded. I have sent extensive letters to the credit card company and the FBI-Internet Crimes Unit. I am about to contact, in writing, the Attorney General's Office in my state.
Same scenerio as others.....message popped up I had a virus and to call the number. Do not leave their site or severe damage may be done. They were very high pressure and fear provoking. Charged me $150 to clean up and get rid of virus. I questioned them throughout the process to which they were belligerent. I am so angry I fell for this
My printer was acting up so I got on the HP site. They ad popped up and I thought they were a legit company. Boy was I wrong. THIS IS A HUGE SCAM. Do not install anything they request.
Could not believe I fell for it. Red flags and I continued with them. Cost me $350 from my bank account. I was so uneasy about it I kept watching my bank account. After 1 month nothing happened except their original $350 deduction. But when they called again saying I know needed to get the "interior" of my computer cleaned up and it would know cost $499 (lifetime) I knew! Got off the phone, went straight to my bank and closed my account. As I had a freeze on my credidt I had to contact the credit reporting agency and let them know what happened, telling them to change the ID number on my account because that number was on my hard drive and if they had it they could unlock my file and do alot of damage. Still waiting, hope everything was done in time and I don't end up with a mess. How stupid I was!!!
They pretend to be from Microsoft and in urgent "need to fix your computer from a serious security issue." They randomly dial you with an "Unavailable/Unknown number" then ask that you immediately get in front of your computer (in my guess to eventually provide them remote access to run pseudo diagnostics... showing you computer is in miserable condition and they need to fix it. Later comes the credit card charges and horror in getting your money back if you fall for it.) . Report them to the BBB and ask that your phone number be immediately deleted from their business. Proof they're a scam,.. they will continue to try to reach you
They just called me too. I should have known better when it took several seconds for someone to respond when I said hello. Same pressure, but when I asked if they were affiliated with MicroSoft, they kind of panicked. I just hung up and shut down my computer.
