I ordered some frames. I kept checking the website wondering why the status stayed as "Preparation in Progress" for a week. They had charged my credit card almost before I could blink my eyes!
When I contacted them and got a response, Henry Gordon said that they were on back order and they should be getting them in 1-5 days.
Okay! So they don't actually have frames in stock. When you order them they relay it along to someone else, and you have to wait for them to get the frames to the people you ordered them from! That is if the manufacturers still carry the frames that you tried to order through the website. This is chancy with discontinued models.
After three weeks of being told they should be in within 1-5 days, I did what I should have done before I clicked on "Buy". I started searching the internet for complaints and reviews.
The results?
Popular Optics, inc., OpticSyles.com, and Iloveglasses.com are all the same person. He gets web pages designed by GoDaddy.com. They are Domain by Proxy sites. Most likely run from someone's back room in their house. Brian Stevenson was the owner of these sites as of 2012 when he was trying to get google to put OpticStyles.com back on their search engine. He stated that Iloveglasses.com was also his.
There are several complaints about the sites not delivering and not refunding what they charged peoples credit cards. One person's review complained that they delayed for over 60 days until the period to dispute the credit card charge had expired. Several others have had to dispute the charge.
Now I was quite concerned. I told Henry to cancel the order and refund my payment after a month of the same answer about the delay.
Henry stated that he had canceled my order and my refund would show on my card in 1-3 days. Then he said he would contact me when my order was ready!(???)
This did not inspire me with confidence. I have been watching carefully and the status did not change for my order on the website. The refund did not appear on my card.
I am not willing to delay any further so I have opened a dispute on the charge and I am letting you know, when you read the other reviews on the web about this website, according to my experience they are quite accurate.
I personally will stick to ebay where I have a safety net protecting me from this type of practice. Regretfully, this practice will paint all optic sites with the same brush.
