This company solicits business through the great reputation of Costco. For only $29 they will send someone out to "check" your HVAC system. My elderly relative bought this service and a tech was out very fast. He told her that her furnace had cracks on it and was leaking carbon monoxide! he had red tags in his hand and told her he was "required" to "red tag it"! He even showed her the most awful quality video footage allegedly showing her system. She asked hom why her three carbon monoxide detectors weren't alerting her to the problem. He said they must not be working! Really? All three were just not working?
the tech, who was incredible nice, told her for the low price of $6000 he could replace the furnace that day! She declined and instead called the power company. The power company employee came out and told her it all looked fine and was NOT leaking carbon monoxide! Oh, wait, that was AFTER he had to plug in her furnace that the tech left unplugged without telling her!
after follow up with the supervisor, it was learned that the tech unplugged it because he "forgot" that the law changed LAST YEAR and that they no longer are to "red tag" "faulty" systems! How does a tech, who's job it is to inspect systems conveniently "forget" the laws? Give me a break!
after a few internet clicks it is easy to find that this "scam" has happened almost this exact way to several peoe before from this company! Do not use these fraudsters! I am disgusted that they are operating in a community filled with the elderly and are trying to scare them into buying overpriced systems they dont even need!
