I was a loyal customer for 5 years. In the last 3 weeks I owned my house I had the need to file 2 service requests.
First off the AC stopped working after our home inspection. It was the first week of 100 degree temps. It took them 4 days to get a service provider to my house (and I was told there were not other options). The first night I stayed in an 85 degree house, the next afternoon it was 95 degrees, so I took my dog and lived at the Westin for the remainder of the week.
The appointment was scheduled for Friday Afternoon between 1 and 4 and the technician didn't arrive until 7:30 PM. It took nearly an hour to get the unit operational and it did not cool down in the house until after 2 am. I provided the guy $60 cash to pay my service fee as the One Guard website was not accepting the warranty requests with credit cards attached.
4 weeks later, after several calls to customer service, I was finally told the reason the warranty was not transferred to the new owners was I had 2 outstanding service fees. One for the AC that I paid in cash and one for a Refrigerator repair where the technician did not fix my ice maker (supposedly ordered a part that did not come in until after I moved).
In the end, I authorized another payment for these expenses as I was being held hostage over $120, however I disagree that any of the moneys were owed on either as 1) the money was already paid, and 2) the service was not preformed. I was told if I could provide my receipts they would refund this however all of that paperwork is still packed.
I just feel like this is horrible customer service to someone who was a loyal customer for years. Makes me not want to use them again. I am in need of a new warranty on my new house but will not be using them. After being told I was lying about the AC payment, I feel like this company has more loyalty to their technicians and not their customers. Questioning my integrity is the worst offence you can commit. Shame on them.
