Provider advertises via Craigslist for Garage Door Service Repairs as Low as $55.00, Upon Arrival the Provider immediately recommended unecessary repairs to operable components of the existing Garage Door it's hinges and pulley system. Upon Explaining that I simply wanted the doors operator reattached and a universal remote programed. The Vendor said that this would cost more than the posted $55.00 service call and that there would be more labor involved. I asked the technician for a price and he replied he'd "handle it". He immediately than replaced the garage door's operator circuit board without any testing of the old unit which was operating from the systems on off switch on the back of the unit. He also installed a set of sensors with a retail value of $35.00. After two long hours in 100 degree temperatures. The Technician informed me that he was finished. Taking the door from an almost closed position to the lifted door position. The technician than handed me a hand written invoice without Company Name Address or Contact Information for $366.00 explaining that if I paid cash he would reduce it to $340.00, I did make the mistake of paying him before testing the equipment. Immediately upon his departure with my Money, I realized the door did not operate from the hard wired button, "It would not remain closed" Nor the Remote Control which did not operate at all. Upon calling the company back, he made no less than 5 rescheduled appointments taking me time off from work and not honoring a single one of his rescheduled appointments.
Finally upon threatning the Technician with The Rip Off Report, he did return and spent an additional 2 and half hours making a lot of noise with his torque wrench which he uses primarily to con the consumer that he is performing a service. Upon inspection of his handy work this time, he actually had dismantled his previous work removing the motion sensor, it's brackets, the come along mount which guides the units chain drive and was trying to pocket the universal remote I had purchased at Home Depot. My portable lamp was also missing from the garage. This Provider upon further research is also rated F by the Better Business Bureau. This Provider is A Con. They operate primarily from Craigslist Advertisements and it is doubtful that they are either insured as advertised or a True Franchise of The Overhead Door Company which they are presenting themselves as. They are presently doing business from Phone Numbers 405-886-3667 and 405-549-7682. Someone Needs to do an investigative sting and prevent this from happening to anyone else.
