I contacted JD on 5/24/14 and asked if he could build a custom exocage. He said the project could be done and that it would take a weekend to complete. I paid half as a deposit on 5/26/14 so he could buy the materials. Dropped the jeep off 2 weeks later and after difficulties from his equipmnet he was not able to start on the project untill a week later. After another week he was still nowhere near finished. I had to take the Jeep on a planned vacation in the mountains so the jeep was returned to me unfinished with the understanding that he would finish it when I returned. The jeep was retuned to him in July and after several week of injuries he was unable to work on the vehicle for a few weeks. The Jeep was finally returned to me in August and since the weekend project ended up taking 2-1/2 months and cost me money and time for traveling (150 miles rount trip) as well as lost time from work. For this inconceniece he told me he would give me a discount and make it right. Upon inspection of vehicle there were some issues I voiced for some incomplete pieces as well as a faulty swing out tire carrier. I held my end of the bargain and paid him for the project under the condition that he take care of the issues on a later date. I have yet to have these issues fixed as my job has not allowed me the time to return the vehicle to him. Now 6 months later the cage has developed rust from the product to being finished with a coating that would prevent this rust. The coating was a part of the product I paid for and was not done properly and now the cage that I paid $1700 is completely useless and will have to be removed from the jeep and scrapped. This is a large loss and I will not have this unprofessional work on my car any more. I have asked for a refund and will more than likely have to seek council according to lack of professionalism and his reponse to other disputes.
I saw an ad on Craigslist for some Jeep bumpers. I contacted the Owner JD Murray. I told him exactly what I wanted based on the pictures on his website. He took my money up front, was almost a month late on the delivery, and the product was awful. Not even close to what was advertised, and the workmanship was that of a first timer. He agreed to a "partial refund" which I had asked for , and told me that he would have it to me in 2 weeks. 1 month later, he finally brought me a check..... which was denied at his bank. After threatning legal action, he brought me cash. I don't believe that JD is honest, nor do I believe that his product or workmanship is that of a professional. I have pictures and emails / texts to back up everything that I have stated here. DO NOT do business with this company.... you will be sorry.
