Well, guess I wasn't alone after all. I was a member at Oakland for a while. I was lied about, harassed and threatened the entire time I was a member there. If it wasn't some man thinking I "wanted him", it was some woman threatening me because "she knew I wanted her man."
I see an awful lot of the same names in other complaints . Same people I had problems with.
Anyone who thinks that Oakland is a "family friendly" place had better think twice. There was more than one registered sex offender "camp working" there during my time as a member. The folks who ran the place thought they'd kept that dirty secret hidden, but not so. Several of us let our memberships lapse after finding out that they KNEW those men had records but hired them anyway.
I also heard the older men there harass and talk about any younger men who showed up at the park. I could never tell exactly what was going on because since I wouldn't "play along" I was always an outsider.
That place needs to be shut down ... it is nothing but a way for the owners -- Gary, Brenda, Di, etc. and their drinking buddies -- Rick Lorenz and that bunch -- to suck money out of people to pay for their fancy little pplayground. AANR should really investigate them all.
