On November 17, 2014 I purchased a Power inverter from O'Reillys in downtown long beach for $130 which came with a 2 year warranty. The Manager was great, he answered all my questions and said if it didn't work for me i could return it.
On November 28, 2014 I return to O'Reilly's because the power inverter would only power my car buffer for 5 min before draining my brand new battery. I could not find my receipt nor packaging but took it back with hopes that they could charge it back to my card. I spoke with an associate at O'Reilly's and he talk to Assistant Manager "Daniel" who told him he'd he couldn't do anything for me because I didn't the orignal packaging and receipt. They tried looking me up in the system but could find me for some odd reason. which I found to be peculiar because I spend close to $5000/ year at that same store because I'm a Wyotech automotive student and utilize the discounts afforded to students and veterans. [continued below]....
On 11/19/14 i purchased an oil change package from oreilly`s in jackson tn.
i didnt do the oil change untill monday 11/24/14 when i finally had time.
was the day the car was to be used to go out of town for thanks giving.
about 40 miles into the trip my girl friend called me saying the car was running bad and over heated.
when i went to check on it it was running bad (high idle, smoking, etc.)so i trailered it back.
spent all day trying to figure out what went wrong till my friend who is a mechanic came by to look at it.
he diagnosed the oil filter since it was the only thing different on the car so we pulled it and replaced it the next morning and now the car is running fine i.e idles good etc.so that proves his theory was right.
but...when the car over heated due to poor oil circulation it caused either the head gasket to crack(about 1000 dollars to repair) or the head its self to crack(significantlly higher 1000`s)
my car is a 2008 pontiac vibe that only has less than 120k miles and i have never had any trouble at all out of it.
just paid it off this year.
i contacted oreilly`s manager at that store...his reply was "an oil filter can not cause that"but he would check into it.
about 30 minutes later he calls me back and says "my boss says there is nothing we can do"
fact number 1...replaceing the faulty/wrong filter made the car run like its supposed too.
fact 2...a faulty oil filter can cause a car to over heat by not produceing enough flow makes the engine work to hard putting stress on the rest of the system.
fact 3 the box it came in has a different parts number than the oil filter does..the original number was scribbled through in pen and a different part number also in ink pen written in above it and a sticker with that number on it on the top.(the number on the box would have been right one but not the one that is on the filter its selfaccording to cross refference)
final fact there is a warranty and at the very least should have honored that but they did absolutely nothing but basically say sorry about your luck.
i understand (c y a cover your ass) but..to try to lie and say that cant happen(even though it did)just adds insult to injury.and ofcoarse it will cost me more of my hard earned money but this will not fly!
O'Reilly Auto Parts Reviews
BEFORE....we do any business here....as always....we pay some fond attention to the
Master of Ceremonies, and the Founder of this incredible website, THE MAN....
Mr. Ed Magedson. Without Ed, we'd still be in the Dark.
I am a disabled professional man, age 64, living in Grove, OK. I walked into the local O'
Reilly Auto Parts, and purchased a can of a CRC proprietary chemical spray, called
" Lektra Kleen ".
I used this to clean the master switch panel in my Lincoln Towncar.
The product totally FRIED the panel. And I mean, FRIED. I went to the O'Reilly website,
and I sent the so-called ( now, this is truly a JOKE !!!!!!!!! ) customer satisfaction unit (?????)
an e-mail message, explaining the problem, and requesting some customer support.
At 9:45 a.m., next morning, some one named "HARTLEY"....sent me a letter of apology,
and telling me that I would get some pretty much right away.
That QUOTE " SUPPORT " came in the form of a LIAR, a CHEAT, and a DECEIVER
named SCOTT COLLINS, who claimed to be the District Manager of O'Reilly Sales
District NINE.
SCOTT COLLINS made me believe that he was going to take care of my car problem.
SCOTT COLLINS LIED, LIED, LIED, and for a little variety, he LIED, LIED, LIED, even
more.
Mr. Scott Collins, District Manager for SALES DISTRICT NUMBER 9, told me he was
"concerned " about my window being down, due to my switch panel being fried.
So, SCOTT COLLINS was so concerned, he decided to play " Master Electrician ".....and
he stuck PAPER CLIPS in the electric modules that plugged in to my swtches !!!!!!
Now, this is a man who has utterly ZERO qualifications to do any kind of electrical work.
To quote COLLINS: " Yeah !!! I've ALWAYS been interested in electronics !!!! "
HAH!!!!!!!!! Now, my car master swich panel and the window motor inside my door, is
SCREWED UP WORSE THAN GROGAN'S LITTLE GOAT !!!!!
And, where is this Auto Electrical Genius ?
No one knows.
I called in to the Corporate Headquarters, ONCE AGAIN, to procure some help.
And....what did I get ? I got a BULLY, LIAR, AND CHEAT, NAMED
Mr. NICK SCIMECA. And what does Mr. BIG SHOT SCIMECA DO ?
SCIMECA LIES, CHEATS, AND BULLIES ME. OR....at least tries.
Now, WHO is NICK SCIMECA ? HE CLAIMS TO BE THE BIG MAN OVER
OUR " TERRITORY ". Oh, WOW, is SCIMECA ever the BIG MAN.
SCIMECA IS A COWARD, A LIAR, A CHEAT, and a BULLY.
O' Reilly Auto Parts, as it unfortunately turns out, is a phantom orchestra playing
the the BIGGEST CRAP HIT OF ALL : CHEAP. CHEAP. CHEAP.
Don't believe me ? Check into GLASSDOOR. THEY PAY SOME OF THE CHEAPEST,
CHEAP-A$$ WAGES EVER !!!!! Their wages are very, very similar to
McDonald's, and WAL-MART. LOW.
SO, Sports Fans....there your have it. Now. this report could have been a LOT LONGER,
but, you don't have the time, and I don't want to bore you.
SUFFICE IT TO SAY..... O' REILLY AUTO PARTS is CRAP. CRAP. AND MORE CRAP.
Inhabited by LIARS....CHEATS....and THIEVES....and LOSERS.
And, as for you, DAVID O'REILLY.....well....we only teach what we know....RIGHT ?
Thanks.
