The 25/10 - 2015 10.35 I went to the shop and bought a lense for my camera. I had to pay 186,40 USD and I only had 180 USD in cash. I couldn't get any discount, but I could get a UV filter and then my friend had to pay the rest. 6,40 USD. No problem.
But when we came home to Denmark they have drawn 640,00 USD from the account. And they took a copy of the passport, we didn't get any papers on the transaction. It was only 6,40 USD, so I didn't worry.
Now I worry. How do we get the money back, when our own bank says they can*t do anything?
I wish I had read the yelp reviews before I used this rip off merchant! Went in to buy a cheap case for a few days away. Told them I only wanted cheap as had good cases in the room that were just to big to take on the train. Asked how much a case would cost me and was told 39.99 so after much debate I decided to just take it even although I had seen one for half the price a couple of blocks away.
Once they swiped my card the price jumped up to almost 50 dollars and i was told it was tax. Now fair enough, tax has to be paid but I'd asked how much it would cost me and they knew I was cost conscious so i asked them to cancel the transaction.
"Can't be done" they said. "Yes it can" I said. I work in a bank and previously worked as a shop manager so I know it can be cancelled. They argued but eventually asked how much cash I had and I said "the 40 dollars you originally told me" so they said "ok give me that". I handed it over and they grabbed it behind the counter then asked for the rest to cover the tax. I said no and to give me the cash back. They wouldn't hand the cash back and so eventually I said to phone the police. After arguing and being intimidated by 3 men for nearly 15 minutes as soon as I mentioned police they gave in and gave me the case for the 40 dollars. This is a very simplified version of what happened but it left a very sour taste in my mouth. I did make sure to get the copy of the void of the card transaction (which they were able to do easily)
