North Idaho Elite 8th grade girls basketball team (coached and directed by Dan Rud) from Couer-d-Alene, Idaho forwarded entry forms to the 19th Annual Veterans Day Tournament directed by Ron Stone. As per general practice there was a cut-off date for entries and on that date (Nov. 1, 2014) the director notified Dan Rud (via e-mail on Nov 1 and readily available should it be needed) that there were not enough teams in their bracket and that their check would be returned to them.Dan Rud then sends this e-mail to the director on Nov 1, 2014 and I quote "Thanks for screwing our team, players and coaches over on this. I'm sure we have parents who made non-refundable hotel reservations. When your deadline passed you should have let us know immediately. You have a responsibility and failed at that. Luckily I am in the SEO business and will share this experience with everyone on the Web and hopefully you won't be able nto ever have a tournement again. You are an irresponsible jerk! Dan ". Ron is a good friend of mine and I had a 7th grade team in the tourney so he shared the e-mail from Dan Rud with me and I responded to it basically telling Dan Rud to "put his big boy pants on and realize that the world does not revolve around neither him nor his team and the e-mail was totally uncalled for! The tourney goes off without incident by anyone and then on Nov. 12, 2014 another e-mail from NI Dreamin (most likely another e-mail address of Dan Rud or one of his cohorts) is sent to the directoras well as Wenatchee Valley College coaches (to whom the funds were going) and it reads as follows:" Hi, we attended your youth AAU basketball tourney this past weekend and had a very poor experience with Stan Evenhus who said he ran your tournament. He was abusive, confrontational and a very poor example of someone who should run a youth tournament. He called us derogatory names and breaded us when we brought our problem to his attention. I also heard from another team that pulled out that Stan hasn't refunded their money. What is going on with this, it is horrible. I am afraid to give my contact information in fear of his anger coming after me. Can you speak with him and report back to me before I need to take further steps to reconcile this, thank you. They promote it as being through Wenatchee Valley College is this true?"
They never had a team in the tourney. I never have met any of these people and never had a problem with anyone at the tourney and I am not the director so I have nothing to do with checks or anything with the tourney and never have! I have all of the e-mails revealing the truths and they have been sent to Chris Carlson, head basketball coach at North Idaho Junior College, as his name is associated with this elite organization. His attempt to right these wrongs is spelled out in the following e-mail as follows:"Dan-after this incredible spin and choas resulting froma simple cancellation of a tournament bracket, I cannot have the North Idaho Elite name associated with this behavior. You have avoided my e-mails also. Do you consider my emails harassment also? You have forced me to connectm with the parents of the 8th grade team and also with the CDA community coaches and athletic directors to find out the truth so I can put this to rest. I will not rest until these men have received an apology, Chris.
My sincere appreciation goes out to Chris in his effort to right these terrible wrongs. And to think it all revolves around Dan Rud and his team not getting into an AAU tourney because of lack of teams in their age group!! My goodness, this man should not be allowed to coach at any level and as I have stated more emails are available and will be shared as needed simply by calling the tourney director. This has been a very well run tourney for 19 myears and Ron continues to run a well organized event yeaR IN AND YEAR OUT. I will certainly pass on these emails and any of this to other tournament driectors and the director has relayed the emails to the AAU directors. Beware of Dan Rud as he states he is the SEO of a company as if that will intimidate anyone! The North Idaho Elite is probably a well run organization with Chris Carlson involved but they should immediately eliminate any association with Dan Rud and/or the addressee for NI Dreamin!!
Dan rud, has been rude to us and our child!! He should not be coaching anyone!! He tell lies and makes himslef out to be the victim....thats what he does....turns it around so he look,like the victim!! He is a flat out liar!!!
