On June 1st of 2014 my wife and i visited our local Nissan dealer, Nissan of Cool Springs located in Franklin, Tennessee, the city which is also the home of Nissan of America and the corporate offices for Nissan in the US.
We purchased a new Frontier truck. We were told that extended service was included in the price at no extra cost. What we were not told is that there was in fact a substantial cost for this, around $1200 that had been hidden in the payments. If we had known of this we would have not allowed the cost of this extra to be added to the cost of the truck since we only intend to keep the vehicle for three years and no additional or extended service would be needed.
When we found out a week later that we had been misled we contacted the dealer and demanded that this cost be taken off of our loan and credited back to us. The dealer agreed to do this reluctantly. However, the dealer did not do it and we had to return to demand that from them again the following month. Again we were told that the $1200 cost would be taken off of our loan amount. Weeks followed and these promises were never kept.
The matter is now in the hands of Nissan of America for review.
