They called today and told me my wife purchased a travel package from them on October 16, 2010 with a first payment of $498 using our Master Card. He said we failed to make the required second payment of $498 and today during that phone call was oiur last chance to satisfy our contract. If we hung up without paying them $498 they were going to take action against us. I hung up and looked at our Master Card bill for October 16, 2014 there was no charge of $498 on the card. We did pay Special T another travel firm in Florida $139 on that day. We have used the Special T travel travel package. the caller also claimed that their firm had a BBB rating of B+, when it is a C. They claim to have a recording of their contracting call with my wife, but from the "facts" they told me I can not verify their claim. I checked our Visa Cards and could not find a charge of $498 to them on that date either. As I can not verify their claim I will not pay them.
I also received a call from this company with similar claims. They said that I had put a deposit of $698 on my visa card on Jun 2011 for a vacation package. It was returned to them because it was not claimed but that they will give me credit and arrange for another chance to take the trip. They wanted another $498 since I had not paid for the registration and handling fee. Good luck with that!!
When asked about some information about the original deposit since I did not recall paying that amount to a total unknown company by phone they claimed confidentiality reasons. They would not provide even they contact number until paid with a credit card. They are total scam business.
Just happened to me yesterday they said we put $498 down and this was our last chance to get our vacation...I told him we never bought anything from them and he kept saying it was silly for us not to use this bc it was a lot of money...he wouldn't let me hang up n call my hubby so I had him on hold and just hung up, well he ended up calling me back (which he said he couldn't do in the first place) and left a message saying our account was now closed...we reviewed our records which had nothing from these people and It was the credit card that we closed bc it had been tampered with. It's a scam
Telemarketers have called my 92 year-old mothers and conned her into buying four vacation packages. They range in price from $500 to $800. With the signs of dementia beginning to show, she has no memory of these conversations and had no intention of saying yes to any of them.
When I called the company their representative said that he would ask the sales department to void two of the most recent purchases and to add her name to the "Do not call list". At this point there has been no response.
Fraud reports have been filed with the BBB and the Florida State DA. She is asking for a full refund.
