I contracted with New England Air Duct Cleaners to service my AC units in June of 2014. They claimed to have found mold growing on the blowers in my furnace and recommended a UV light system to help reduce mold growth. They charged my $899 for the services that day and the UV light system.
They scheduled a time to come back and install the light system which eventually took me multiple phone calls to get them back to my house. When someone showed up he started the job and then left without finishing. He said the lights would need to be hard wired into the furnace and he wasn't capable of doing that.
I called the owner Jake who said that would be my responsibility and not his. I disagreed because he should have known this would have been an issue. Finally we agreed to split the cost of the electrician to do the work. I paid the electrician and Jake promised a check to re-imburse me for half as agreed. Of course that check never showed up.
Furthermore I hired someone else to service my oil burners and furnace before this winter and they found the UV lights to have burned out in only 6mos! They should last close to two years. They are $100 to replace for a set of 2. I've now disconnected the lights and I am out $899 from my experience with New England Air Duct Cleaners. Do not use this company. Their follow up is horrible and their services even worse.
