Netzero is the cheapest s*** in the world, let me tell you how it all started i ordered my 4g mobile broadband on 07-27-14 and it arrived
07-29-14 i had the $19.99 plan which was 3 gigabytes and i was pretty intrested in the plan so, i decited to give it a try so i got my laptop from my room sat down on the couch and connected it to the broadband like, 1 hour later i stoped using my laptop to go to my cousins 19th birthday party so i got ready then i got my phone and my earphones to jam then, i noticed a messege on my phone i said, dear kevin, you've reached the data limit for this billing cycle.In order to contiue using your netzero mobile broadband, please purchase extra data,,,like WTF bra ??? thats just a ripoff when i came back from the party i called the company and told them to cancel the sevice so they did the next day, i switched to bright house networks which had blazing fast internet plus 300 tv channels and a home phone and i only paid $90 bucks for all of that!!!!!! so i recomend all the netzero members to switch to bright house instead of netzero if u dont want to its all on you because it has 90 gigs on their internet for only 60 bucks and with netzero you get 20 gigs for 80 bucks thats why i think netzero is a STREIGHT UP RIPOFF!!!!
I currently use NetZero. NetZero price of $19.95 as of July 2014 is deceptive; they have added a $2.95 get this “ACCESS FEE (to access their Network)” in extremely small white print on the plan pages.
So if you choose the $19.95 you will not be allowed to access NetZero’s network, unless you pay this mandatory fee. If they would have just increased the price I would not be so outraged but to add the $2.95 as an access fee to their network is outrageous.
I signed up for this plan in 2013 with the knowledge that the price included access to the NetZero network; otherwise the plan is useless if one cannot access a network.
The actual price of whatever plan you choose plus mandatory access fee of $2.95, to access their NETWORK. They are blatantly PRACTICING FALSE ADVERTISING. Ex. $19.95 is actually $22.90.
How do we as customers stop this unsavory practice of dishonest, false deceitful and deceptive advertising? Does anyone have workable Ideas on stopping this practice? What Federal Agency controls internet providers?
I ordered internet with them over the phone. Took no time at all (of course) to take the information. We got the flash drive in the mail. We tried getting internet in a big, metropolitan city but IT DID NOT WORK! Would not load the pages, kept telling us to refresh, we did click refresh but would keep showing the refresh page every time we clicked it.
We called NetZero. They stated we had to try tech support before we could cancel. We did for over 30 minutes with them. They could not get it to work. I then told them I wanted to cancel. Tech support put me back with someone else who could do the canceling. They stated that I had not used tech support so they would have to charge me the early termination fee. I told them we had just finished with tech support and they were unable to get it to work. The man kept telling me I HAD NOT tried tech support. I told them I had and I wanted to cancel. This went on numerous times. I told him I was sending back the flash drive.
I called them again several days later to get the charges refunded. They stated that they had not received the flash drive, they were giving me a 75% reduction on the drive but I could not get the refund on the early termination fee. I told them this is bad business... not how to do business. I told them they deserved money for sending me the device but they were NOT to take any money out of my acct. for early termination because this is a huge metropolitan city and it should work here; not like some small town I would expect it not to work there. They did take the money from my acct.
I wanted to confirm that they had indeed canceled my acct. but the man stated that it was NOT cancelled. I asked him why since I had cancelled it over a week ago? He stated they will not cancel the account until they receive the device back. I replied," Let me get this straight. You have not cancelled this account when I told you to last week and you state you will not cancel it until you receive the device from me? Is that right? That is right, he stated. I kept trying to reason with them but they hung up on me more than once.
I got a phone call from them 3-4 days later even though I told them I would not be available to take a phone call for 6 more days since I would be at work. They called any way. She stated they had decided to refund the early termination fee but I told her I had closed that debit card so they could not take any more money out of that account.
So! All I wanted was Internet, no cable, no phone, just Internet and it looked like netzero offered that on a very affordable price. I did read some bad reviews from upset costumers, but I thought that every company has upset people at one point. 3 weeks a go I called netzero to ask about their services and base on the fact that my family uses Internet for everything the lady suggested that the best plan was $45.00 monthly. I very clearly asked if there was any other extra charges that I should know about. she said no. what they don't tell you is that each plan has a limited usage data, which means if you use the Internet long enough you will run out of thehours they give you and you would have to purchase more time to use the Internet... Ridiculous!... Sure enough! a few days later we reached the limit and I called to cancel the service. I guess I sounded harsh enough to the lady that she didn't try to convinced me to buy more "data usage". and just to be sure, I called my bank and put a stop payment to that company.
I don't normally do this but, FYI if you are thinking about getting 4G services from Nezero, don't it is the biggest pile of bulls*** ever. I've spent $95.00 to purchase a modern and $20.00 for shipping and another $50.00 for service, I've explained to the rep. what it would be used for ""our platinum service would be perfect for you"" he said. 4 days later it stop working and request that I buy more data,I ask to return the device and get my $95.00 back I was told no. Just a little FYI.
