Back in March 2013 - March 12 2013 to be exact - I purchased a premium real estate domain name and transfered it to networksolutions.com, a web.com company. Next day I received an email that my refund has been processed. When I called NS customer service, their customer service rep nonchalantly stated that my US $5,000 domain failed to transfer from the seller's account to my account so the domain has been deleted and cannot be reinstated.
Appauled, I contacted BBB hours later back in March 2013 and was contacted by NS management who apologized that my domain was deleted and assured it woud be reinstated 'as long as I was willing to make repayment' since my initial payment was 'refunded'. Of course I was willing to repay since I didn't ask for them to refund my ten dollar payment for yearly domain registration aka domain hosting (not web hosting). NS manager took payment and assured my domain would be restored.
It was restored and all was well. In 2014 I even purchased email service from NS as well of course my domain auto-renewed without problem. However flash forward to the present, March 2015 two years later and I get an email that my website is marked for DELETION all over again. I called NS and was told my domain has been suspended FOR 2 years! What liars, at this point! If my domain was suspended for 2 years, How come they added email to my domain in 2014 which I paid $13 for a year of emails for, plus renewed and charged my debit card without issue in 2014 as well.
Looking back at 2 years ago, I realize the moment my domain I had just paid $5,000 transferred into NS, someone at NS saw the opportunity to refund my payment for the year of registration and thus delete my domain. Liewise, despite 2 years of reistration and 1 year of email services, all paid for and actively renewing, some one, some persons, or some program at NS again initiated a suspension of my domain name in order to mark it for deletion unless I pay a $49 reinstatement registaration amount despite there being no legit reason for my domain being suspended in the first place, both 2 years ago, as well as presently. Becaose of NS ongoing actions, I don't have the privilege to simply transfer my domain away to another registrar of my choice at this time. Thus, I am forced to pay NS for another year PLUS pay an exorbitant reinstatement fee despite my domain having always been on autorenew as well as the debit card account linked correctly and with ample funds steadily available for debit; none was even attempted however it is clear now 2 years later was was attempled back then, and now 2 years forward, all over again.
I registered for a new domain and email address for a new business on November 11, 2014. I was supposed to be live on December 1, 2014. For reasons unknown I could not log into my new account and contacted tech support.
I was told that I had attempted to log in too many times and the account was now locked. I was told that only a supervisor could unlock the account. I was told that the supervisor would call me back within 1 to 2 hours. This occurred twice. I waited all day and a supervisor never called me.
I told the "tech" that I spoke with that I needed to manage the account to be up and running on December 1, 2014. Basic response, "so sad, too bad" only supervisor could help and he or she is not available. In fact you cannot even contact them on the internet without being able to sign into your account.
So, they have my money, and I don't have control of my domain name account. And, I don't know when i will get control ofif anyone will ever contact me. Oh, yes, the "tech" did ask me if she had resolved all of concerns. I told her don't be ridiculous of course you have not.
In any event, do not do business with Network Solutions, there customer support is essentially useless.
A customer of Network Solutions for domain name purchases and management since 1998, I was shocked to discover today that all (three) my domain names have been automatically renewed without authorization and at an unknown cost.
Also, I find myself the owner of a fourth domain that I never wanted nor requested. Network Solutions, without authorization, purchased it in my name.
This is reprehensible behavior that should be punished by the FCC. But this company with get away with it criminal behavior because it had the inside track with government officials from the begining and was the very first, for-profit internet domain name provider on the market.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. AFTER 16 YEARS, IT'S TIME TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. THIS COMPANY WAS ALWAYS TOO EXPENSIVE ANYWAY, BUT NOW, IT'S DOWN RIGHT CRIMINAL IN ITS' CONDUCT.
