Neteller is an alleged payment processor. In order to pay a Merchant, I have to add money to my approved and fully verified Neteller account.

On the first of October, I deposited amounts totaling 2000 usd to my Neteller account with the intention of paying a Merchant.

Neteller refused to send the 2000 USD payment to the merchant.

I called them regarding this and because of my Nationality (Neteller is a prejudiced and racist company), they proceeded to barrage me with all sorts of insulting questions, even though I had a fully verified account with them. I was told this was the only way they would release my funds to the Merchant. I gave them all the information they required during that call.

After the abusive interrogation, I was informed they would not send my money to the merchant until I provided scanned images of my debit card. (Note that they just changed what I was previously told). Please note that my Neteller account was fully verified before I ever used the account (during the initial verification of my Neteller account, my ID, bank account, bank cards and address was received and verified by Neteller). So, when I was told to send the scanned images of my cards, I got very uncomfortable and very suspicious of their intentions.

Also note that scanning my cards and sending to a third party was a very hard thing for me to do. If they did not have my funds, I would have not worked with them. This is exactly how scammers and fraudulent individuals/companies get people’s information and steal from them but, with the intent of now protecting my hard earned money, I proceeded to scan my cards, and send them the images (their only requirement was that the images should be clear and legible). After sending the images, I called them to make sure they got them and made sure the images where approved (clear & legible). They confirmed that the images met their requirements.

Later on, I got an email from them informing me that they would not pay the merchant and that they will keep my funds unless I now provided a photograph of myself holding my cards. Please note that this new request is not and was not a requirement for me to use Neteller to pay any Merchant. Since they did not stand by their first two requests (interrogations and scanned images of my card), and knowing that my account was fully verified before I ever used them, I could only think that this was another scam request (Note: The funds came from an account with the same first and last name as the bank account, credit card, bank statements all verified before the account was ever used).

With identity theft so rampant, and two lies already told, this was how far I was willing to go with this company. What else would they ask for? A nude photograph of me so that they can do what they allege they were there for in the first place? This request is against everything I believe in.

I believed it was no longer safe to work with them. They already have all my information and documents, (bank accounts, cards, IDs, phone number, email address, home address etc.).

I have every right as an individual not to do business with anyone/ any company I deem unfit to do business with.

Since they refused to pay the merchant, I asked for my money back. I was told that the only way to return my funds (back to the source), was to close my account. I asked them how I would be sure that they would return my funds after the account has been closed (It sounded like they were trying to remove every proof that I was ever an account holder but, again, I was left with no choice, they had my money). I was assured by the agent that this was the only way they would release my money, that after an account has been closed with a positive balance, their policy is to return the positive balance to the source of funds. I agreed reluctantly. I was told I would receive a follow up email with the details of the returned funds.

The next day, I called them again because I did not receive the returned funds email. I was now very clearly told that they would hold on to my funds indefinitely unless I send them a picture of myself holding the cards. Again, this was not what I was told before. I did not sign nor agree to this.

Per my experience, I believe Neteller is a fraudulent company, posing as a payment processor, to receive and steal their client’s funds by refusing to give the funds back using the excuse of security or verification of the account. I have read other people’s reports of Neteller stealing their funds.

They are a fraudulent company full of insults to their clients.

I am no longer interested in working with them. I simply want my money back which I was told I would get when my account is closed. My account with Neteller has been closed since the 2nd of October but instead of returning my funds, they collected the funds from my bank on the 9th of October.

Why would they collect the funds if they are not trying to steal and keep it? What are they planning on doing with the funds since they have closed the account and did not pay the Merchant? Isn’t their intention clear? They are not a goods Merchant, I bought nothing from them, no exchange of goods or services were made and the account is closed. My funds should be returned.

I would very much like a class action lawsuit against this company. I have read a lot of complaints by other people that they have defrauded.
