After selecting a set of $65.00 handgun grips I put it into my shopping cart. But while the site advertises taking Paypal, nowhere could I go to the paypal site to pay by transfer from my checking account. Instead the form kept insisting I provide credit card data.
I called NC Ordnance / Gungrip.com and asked the gentleman how I can bypass the credit card screen and pay by paypal. He said most of their transactions are via paypal so he doesn't understand why I'm having such a problem. I explained the screen I was on, and how it would not let me procede until I entered credit card data. He replied in an angry tone: "I can't see your screen so how can I possibly help you?"
I described the screen to him and he repeated the same thing. So I asked if there was someone more familiar with their check out process who could help me with my order. He replied " NO! and I can't see your screen so I can't help you!"
Then he hung up on me.
In my thirty-five years in retail, the last 15 yrs. as Senior VP for a major retail company's direct to consumer service and fulfillment operations I have never witnessed such rudeness in dealing with the public. Had one of my employees treated a customer that way they'd be put on warning at best, fired on the spot at worst.
Evidently business is so good that a $65.00 order lost means nothing, and civility toward prospective clients means even less.
Procede with caution. These people have zero business acumen.
