I have recenlty fallen for a scam that this company - www.naturalgarciniacambogia.net - is trying to pass of as legitimate business even though the internet is loaded with thousands of complaints against them.
Here's what they do. They provide you a free trial (30 day supply) of either garcinia cambogia or a natural green cleanse. They only charge you a small shipping fee (approx $3) plus another small fee around ($1). Then they start your 14 day trial before you have even received your supply. From that point they give you 13 days to cancel or else you will be charged $89.99 for each bottle you purchased plus you will be enrolled in a membership that will have you billed every 30 days for a new bottle at that price. Which is a huge ripoff.
However, that's not the way they right the fine print on their order page reads. That makes it seem like you will get enrolled and then have to pay $89.99 for each new bottle you receive. But their terms read differently. It's very sneaky and I find it hard to believe it's legal.
If you cancel as soon as you realize you were charged, it's too late. You can call them and they will only be very rude to you and tell you that you just aren't smart enough to understand what is written and they can't help you. Eventually they will give you an email address to talk to upper management. They will ademently justify everything that they have done.
When I explained to the woman answering the customer service line that I haven't even received the new bottles yet and that I just wanted my money before they were shipped she told me that I wasn't paying for a new bottle but instead the ones I had already received. I explained that is not how it reads but she could care less. I said I would send back what I had and she said they cannot take back an open bottle but when I asked what would have happened if I cancelled within the 14 days she said I would be given two options:
1. Purchase the remaining pills for around $30. (instead of the $90 they charged me for becoming a member, how ridiculous is that to try and justify, clearly unethical)
2. She said I could return the unused portion and the open bottle (the same bottle she said they couldn't take back).
This is a disgusting company to get involved with and should be exposed for swidling people's hard earned money. Maybe they have found a legal loophole, maybe not, but they certainly are unethical.
