December 2012 my ford f-250 6.0 caught fire and burned in my yard , i have not yet been paid for my claim. from the start nationwide made me feel like a criminal, i filed a claim in small claims court and won ! with no attorney, thought it was all over till nationwide fought the judges decision forcing me to hire an attorney and wait , i will have my truck paid off before i get one cent from nation wide. the worst part when i win i will only get the value of my truck , no attorney fees or anyother costs involved with the law suit. nation wide is truly not on my side or yours

Nationwide Issues Flood Insurance Policies that it did not honor. Paying $40,000 on a $271,000 Proof of loss claim. Nationwide lowballed us after the Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Forcing us to lose our home by BAD FAITH insurance policies. Nationwide sent adjusters to low ball us after hurricane sandy. We paid the premiums and they did not honor the claims. Nationwide took advantage of hurricane sandy victims and ripped off americans in the most unamerican scum way possible. Nationwide should be bankrupted and all their Executives should face criminal charges. They Ruined my life.

I was a Nationwide policyholder three years and had no claims, accidents or tickets during this time. I also paid all of my premiums on time.

I June 2014 I purchased a new home in Tampa. Prior to my move, and during the month of May I filled out a change of address and notified all of those companies I was doing business with from homeowners insurance to credit card companies, Florida Motor Vehicles and even the Supervisor of Elections. This included Nationwide.

During the month of May I received a premium notice from Nationwide which I paid which I thought was the balance owed to take me to my renewal in October.

On approximately August 30th, I received a letter from the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles stating that Nationwide had cancelled my auto policy and that my license and registration would be revoked if I did not provide immediate proof of insurance. I called Nationwide on September 2nd in an effort to find out what happened and attempted to get re-instated. The company would not provide me with any information other than to tell me that it had been more than 30 days since the cancellation and I could not be re-instated. The only thing they would be willing to do was write a new substandard policy with Progressive Insurance having premiums that were more than $340.00 per month. Outrageous!

When I asked why I had received no notices regarding this issue, they would only say this was all they could do. I also asked what address they showed to which they stated it was my prior address I find very strange and disconcerting when I was receiving all mail from all creditors, or all that required forwarding with the exception of Nationwide. I received no billings, late notices or cancellation notices.

As a result of their failures, I am now being forced to pay a surcharge because I had to state that I did not have existing insure when I made application to a new company, but the worse part was that I was driving around without any form of auto insurance for more than a month and a half. I am very fortunate that I was not involved in any kind of accident during this time. The consequences wo8uld have been financially devastating. STAY AWAY FROM NATIONWIDE.

First and foremost, nationwide are a bunch of high way robbers. If you read nothing else remember that! Here is what happened. My husband and I are going through some financial difficulties but beside that we have paid nationwide every month though sometimes late we Always pay. We have been customers with nationwide for three years.

At the end of December my husband, lets call him Bob, called nationwide and asked for more time to make our payment to which the rep said "ok no problem we can give you an extension"...great!

Fast forward to January 7th I was driving and hit black ice, my car practically went into a spin and ended up going off road and hitting a mile marker. That same night I called nationwide and placed a claim. The rep on the phone took my claim and scheduled us to bring the car to an auto body shop and scheduled a rental car company. So far so good.

My husband, bob took my car into the auto body place on january 8th to get fixed and was told the car was undriveable and that we needed to get a rental Car. That same day, Jan, 8 2014, I made a payment over the phone and was given a confirmation # that my payment was all set. After that I had to call back nationwide to secure the rental because enterprise wanted my credit card info to put a $150 hold on my card. I had two reps on the phone with me from nationwide, however we were unable to contact enterprise, I figured I had no choice as bob had no way to get home so I forked over the $150 figuring I would get it back when I turned in the car.

The next day January 9th, the adjuster called me and asked for my claim, which she said she needed to record, so I told her what happened and then she said "ok I am turning off the recording and by the way, I do not see you were covered by insurance the day of your accident." I immediately told her I had just made a payment over the phone and had spoke with 4 different representatives including the first one who took my claim without hesitation, and not one had mentioned anything about the policy being cancelled. In addition I never received a letter, email, nothing! She said the policy "lapsed" on January 6th the day before my accident. Of course I was furious, why had they made us go through all that work only to tell us that we could not get our claim approved. I also mentioned the conversation bob had with a rep from nationwide back in December requesting more time, she stated she would have another department look into the recordings to see if they could find it and that someone would get back to me. At this point after reading all the negative reviews on nationwide I am not holding my breath on hearing back from them.

In the mean time I had to put the auto body work on hold and now I have to return my rental because nationwide is a horrible company that only cares about their bottom dollar. Also their lovely false advertising, on your side...whose side are they on may I ask?
