After having my R.V. listed on a dozen different websites for sale I thought I needed a more proactive approach so I started seaching the internet for alternatives. I did an on line search I was contacted by a couple of companies. Classy RV was definitely the one that talked the best game about how it would be a matter of weeks before my R.V. was sold and they had a great turn over of products with dozens of people looking for my type of R.V. This sounded like the exact type of exposure I was looking for so I paid the $500 fee.
I sent in a description of my R.V. and some pictures and they posted it on some web sites but I have never had a single inquiry on the basis of their services. I have never receieved a single contact about my R.V. and I have used their suggested pricing and have sent in additonal pictures to try and continue to enhance and improve my advertisement but this is all to no avail and by my initiative. I can't get anyone to contact me through the support section of their website to accept these corrections and price adjustments.
In Dec. of last year they contacted me about doing an auction on ebay motors for another $350 with assurances that this was there best selling month even when I questioned this fact considered Christmas being right around the corner. They assured my that Dec. was their best selling month and I would be handled by the top seller at ebay motors and he would be in contact with me with the offers as they came in and he already had 45 individuals who were looking for just my type of RV.
Needless, to say this was a bust and I never heard from him until after the auction. He expressed total shock that R.V. didn't sale and offered to have another auction for $100 less and mine would be the featured R.V. when people went to ebay.motors and he offered other benefits as well. In March I called and since it was spring I felt it would be a good time to do the auction at the price he had offered.
I was assigned to Crysta (sp) and she told me that I should have never been told to auction my R.V. in Dec. and this was now the prime time to do so. She told me she would be in touch with me every day to keep me informed with what was happening with my auction. While she honored the $100 off the fee she never did feature my R.V. and the only time I heard from her was the day my auction ended even though I made numerous attempts to contact her during the auction.
She initally mentioned that if it didn't sell she would speak to her boss about adding a few days onto the auction. However, when the same lack of activity happened again she told me that an extension was impossible because of the additional cost (whatever that is) but she would be working hard for me by continuing to contacting folks about my R.V. and that it would continue to run on ebay motors for another 30 days. In point of fact Classy RV had told me it would run until it was sold, which had been confirmed in Dec., but that is far from the case.
In fact, my R.V. has been dropped entirely by ebay motors and it appears no where on there website. I have tried to contact Christa to no avail and am totally disgusted with the entire process. It appears that they will say anything to get you to pay and once that happens you disappear. I have called Classy R.V. about the this situation but they have never returned my phone calls or answered my emails.
I can say that I have never had a company that has treated me with such disdain. I thought the idea of a fee as opposed to a commission arrangment would make this an easier arrangment but the exact opposite appears to be the case. I feel like I was taken in by a good sales pitch and maybe that is my fault. However, how else is one supposed to measure an internet entit? This has been nothing but an exercise in futility and dashed expectations.
