I was contacted by phone by a person from "National Vehicle" who assured me that he'd had great success w/ ebay auctions of vehicles like ours. He told me that for a specific price (approx $450) they'd put our big horse trailer on their ebay site for a 10 day auction. He assured me that in the very unlikely event that it didn't sell, it would remain on their site AND that they would continue to handle all incoming calls regarding it. Long story short, it didn't sell during the first auction, altho there were a few bids (that didn't come close to our reserve) and I stupidly fell for the offer of a second 7-day auction at a slightly lower price, because the same guy from NV assured me that the original bidders would surely bid up to and even past our new (even lower) reserve. Only got one offer in second auction, that still fell far short of reserve. Perhaps most insulting is that our trailer is now not even listed on their Classy RV website, which the salesman had assured me it would be.
Do NOT fall for these people's slick and convincing sales pitches--I'm plenty old enough to know better and I was absolutely duped. We received phone calls from 3 or 4 people interested in our trailer--but what happened to the promise from the salesman that they would handle all phone calls from potential buyers? All of these "potential buyers" said that they'd gotten our phone number from the people @ "National Vehicle".
I was contacted by National Automotive Marketing out of Omaha Ne to help me sell my 2010 Dodge Challenger and they told me they can check out their website and they would place me on eBay’s auction until it sold for only $399 which is the discount price for their Golden package $499 value.
I was told that they make all their money on the financing and shipping once my vehicle sold. I asked what the average time to sell a car is, they said 6-8 weeks but they would list it until it sold even if it took a year. And I also informed that I am only selling the car because I have no money to pay my installments for the upcoming months.
They said here is what we are willing to do let us have a credit card number we will not charge it unless your car sales. That is more than fair isn’t it. But later on I insisted to use PayPal which is a preferred method of eBay transaction when item sells. I said ok I can do and it would be worth $399 as I was assured that car would sell. Next thing I know my PayPal card was charged I thought by not allowing them my security code on my credit card they could not charge it.
NATIONAL VEHICLE said would list my car on eBay till sold one-time fee $399 but again after 21 days they came to tell me that, I need to pay them $349 to put reserve on price so they track the watchers on the car and convert them to bidders. National Vehicle agent said they will personally contact the people and negotiate as they are also finance. They claimed that they have an agreement with eBay so they can offer the Golden package $399 to their client listing their vehicle on eBay till the vehicle is sold. When checked with the eBay informed there is no such contract… but obvious after taking the initial fee $399, when I called the National Vehicle agent they are now denying the fact that they never mentioned about the agreement part and spoke rudely.. I said I am going inform about this to eBay, the agent threatened me that “go ahead and do whatever you can” .. I was shocked at the tone and reply … a company which upfront calls me and offer its services is using such unacceptable language…
NATIONAL VEHICLE BEWARE….. PLEASE DON’T FALL IN THE TRAP.
If you want to get trapped by these scam artist give them your information and when you realize the only thing they sold was for you to pull out a credit card so they can make money over and over and over. Now I have to dispute again. The reason I chose them was I did not have the time to sell the car.
With all the time I have spent with the crap from these people I could have sold the car myself with a lot less headaches and would have sold by now. So, not I'm out over $976.00 on my payment. Wow, I thought one time charge until sold meant that but in my case no charge until sold. Well, my car has never received an offer and I am out $1069.00 because I believed them and gave them my PayPal credit card. I wish the money was used in making my car payment.
National Vehicle seems to have perfected the art of selling a service to which they do not intend to provide. I placed an ad in Craigslist to sell my motorcycle. I received very convincing assurances stating they are an Ebay outlet that specializes in selling vehicles. For $399 I could place my motorcycle into a 10 day Ebay auction that boasts an 80% approval rating. Additionally, they will continue to keep that ad in their inventory until the motorcycle sells. After giving them $399, they ran a 10 day auction in Ebay as advertised. That is where their service ends. Although they promise to contact buyers and make heartly attempts to get your vehicle sold from the data they receive from the auction, the day after the auction ended I received a call from their manager stating for $499 they would offer a "no reserve" auction. Thank goodness I didn't get fooled the second time and fork out an additional $499. It appears the only service National Vehicle provides is paying themselves commissions for selling bogus advertising.
I highly recomend that you stay away from this company. I was wanting to sell my truck and use every way possible to help get it sold. This company contacted me and told me that for the low price of $400, they would list my truck on ebay and leave it there until it sold. 25 days later, they came back to me and told me it didn't get upt to the price I set as a minimum. So from here they proceeded to tell me that for another $299 they would relist it and "spotlight" it and make sure more people see it, also they set it up a little different than before. I told them I wasn't going to pay more money to do what they should have done the first time. They told me this time that they were sure it would sell. So, like an idiot, I did it again, and again, it never sold. This time no one contacted me for almost a month. So I finally call them. I have to leave a message. I never hear from anyone again for another week. So I call on a Monday and finally get a hold of someone. I tell them I want my money back and they say that they will have their customer service manager call me and deal with it. Friday comes up and no phone call has been recevied, so I call them, again, and finally get to talk to the customer service manager, who proceeds to tell me that, yes the service I received was crap (basically) however, they have a STRICT no refund policy and I was not going to be able to receive any of my money back. So I am basically out almost $1,000 out of pocket for absolutely nothing. This company is horrible and will never use them again. I am also filing a report with the BBB. If I would have known they had such a "strict no refund policy" I probably wouldn't have even taken a chance with them.
