I received a call from this national magazine service company after doing some couponing and they sounded totally legit and the prices seemed like a bargain.
While I was hesitant from the beginning after the supervisor took the price from $49.99 to $29.90 for me and promised me $500 worth of gift cards/online rebates, which I was to begin receiving in about a week and haven't seen anything and this was on the 31st of October. I was charged the $29.90 on the 4th of November and have not heard or seen anything else from them.
I have been getting at least 8 different magazines for the past two years, and every time I tried to tell this company that I did not order magazines due to my poor eyesight, they promised me that they would cancel my bogus subscription.
I recieved many calls from the magazine companies and only one was ligitimate and paid up. That was for US and Prevention. I was just charged (without my knowledge) $238 out of my checking account. Naturally since it wasn't with my express acknowledgement, I didn't have the money in my account and was charged an overdraft fee, which I also don't have!
I am a widow, disabled with a fixed income that doesn't cover my needs much less extras. This has happened before and I am sick and tired of explaining myself to people that are trying to scam me.
