I had been a customer of National General for a few years when my policy was cancelled (due to la 2 day late payment). I had continued to pay National General for 2 months before realizing my policy had been cancelled.. When I called in, the customer service rep had told me they mailed me my refund although I was never called or emailed to notify me that these checks had been mailed. Nor did I every recieve them. This was in may 2014.
Here I am in July of 2014 and have have spent hours on the phone with these guys trying to figure out where these checks are. They keep telling me that they are cancelling and re-issuing them but it has been 2 months and I havent gotten these checks.
At this point, I am unsure that they will EVER get me my money back and trying to save you from this is the only thing I can think of to do.
There is a silver lining in this all. This experience has forced me to use a different company. I now pay HALF as much, for the EXACT SAME policy + a 2006 Chevy Tahoe.
This company is extremely over priced and their service to their customers is crap. I would high suggest you take your business elsewhere.
Basically I was t-boned by one of GMAC/National General Insurance clients on 11/5/2013. My car was considered a total lost according to their adjuster. This company gave me a rental for 3days in which they have yet to pay me for the lost of my car. It is going on three weeks now and I still haven't gotten any closer to this worthless company doing what they are suppose to do as an insurance company.
I am a single mother of three and I haveto bomb rides because everyone in this company is to lazy to do their jobs. They constantly lie to me about the process and no one ever calls you back. I wouldn't recomend this company to my worse enemy. I would hate if one of their own clients needed them.
