Started dealing with these guys in October 2012. Signed a 1 year contract with them thru Golds Gym in Racine Dr Wilmington, NC. I went for a few sessions (14) and ended up not able to go to anymore. I called both Golds Gym and National Fitness and told them I wanted my contract to end. Of course the year was not up and I had to wait it out, which I did.
At the end of the year I called both back and told them to cancel and they both said they would.
It is 5/15/2014 and they are STILL billing me claiming the contract is a never ending contract after the first year is up, it goes to a monthly non-ending contract. I have voiced my disinterest to them multiple times and they continue to bill me.
I will be cancelling my debit card in which they have stole my money via. According to the reps on the phone they will send my info to a collecting agency and try to hound me for the money.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NATIONAL FITNESS! BUYER BEWARE!
The gym that I have honored the contract membership with has now closed it's doors and I am unable to cancel my membership through this company without having to write a letter and mail it in. I have been paying for a gym for 3 months now that is out of business. I did not receive a notice in any form stating that the gym closed down. I should not be responsible for paying a membership for a gym that is no loger open. I should be able to cancel a membership over the phone or fax so that I am not charged yet another membership fee for a gym that is closed. I contacted this company via phone trying to cancel the membership but they refused to help me and told me to write a letter. It shouldn't be this hard if the company has closed its doors and I should not have to pay for a gym that has closed down. I also should have recieved adiquate notice that the gym was closing it's doors.
