My Husband contracted with Nationwide Movers USA to move us from GA to MD ..... the loaders came very late in the evening to load and had to come back the next morning to finish ....... charged US close to $800 more then the estimated amount quoted.
No NationWide truck was used ..... a Penske rental truck with two exhausted young men came to load us but did not bring a large enogh truck so we had to leave some things behind to give away to throw away!!! Said they would be there first thing in the morning to finish loading .... 6 am .... they finally showed up at 9:30 am ..... said they over-slept!!! By this time I was nausiated and had a headache from all the stress they had caused us.
My husband has called at least a doz times about the delivery of our furniture and personal items. After a week of living in an empty house (we had to replace furniture, bed, kitchen items) they finally get back to us with a delivery date and a promise to be at our new house between 1 and 3 pm ..... well after a number of phone calls and excuses they finally arrive at 11 pm to deliver ....... we live in a mobile home park ......a very quiet area with close neighbors and a rental, unmarked truck pulls up at 11 pm to unload!!! Of course they immediately want payment before unloading.....SO I give them a bank money order for the balance due ...... the exact same type bank money order I paid with when they loaded!!! The delivery guys would not accept a Bank Money Order made payable to Nationwide Movers USA as payment ..... said it had to be CASH or a Postal Money Order. Now at 11 pm what were we supposed to do??? So they took our stuff back to a ware house (have no idea where).
The loading was done on July 30th and here it is Aug 18th and still NO delivery. My husband has been in contact with Nationwide Movers headquarters and they knew nothing about our delivery problem. Obviously they subcontract loading and unloading through whoever ..... which is not what they advertise or tell you about when contracting them to move you!!!
The next promise was to deliver on a Sat morning ...... another phone call from dispatch saying all the trucks were busy so we would not be getting out stuff that day ...... and not sure when they will be able to deliver ..... OH and we will owe an additional $360 because they had to store our belongings since we could not pay on the first delivery try.
We have been lied to, rip offed and stressed out by this moving company, We have reconciled ourselves to the fact that we will NEVER get our furniture and personal belongings. Dispacth guy threatened to sell our stuff if we do not pay what they demand.
This has been a total nightmare for US ...... never, ever again will we trust a moving comany!!! This move has cost us about $6,000 so far with furniture and necessary items that we have had to replace in order to live in our new location.
We truly feel that our furniture and collectibles, decorations, clothing etc etc are lost and gone forever and at the age of 66 that is so sad.
BEWARE of Nationwide Movers USA ..... they are the biggesty rip off ever!
