I am a recent college graduate with primarily business to business sales experience. I took the certification course and completed it about 4 months later. I didn't find the information very impressive at all. I have take college level anatomy, and biology. I would have to say the information was essentially common knowledge to anyone that researches a career in pharmaceutical sales.
In regards to the company I had a dissappointing experience. The website promised a book, and career site to assist my search. The book was delivered with the links for the test. The career website never worked with the login credentials used for the site. Otherwise, I was able to access the instructional materials but not the career site. I made a couple calls pertaining to correct this mistake with no avail. The test was simple and only took 45-60 miniutes to compete. Shortly after completition I recieved a piece of paper / certificate.
I began marketining myself heavily to pharmaceutical companies excited to share my added level of industry knowledge. I had a few interviews and not a single hiring manager or recruiter was familiar with the CNPR certificate. When I described the information every single interviewer kinda scoffed at me. One hiring manager flat out told me you don't need any of that info, and later told me he chose the other candidate because he needed someone to simply sell based on info they provide.
In summary, I suggest candidates to skip this fake certification due to lack of credibility. In addition, my experience with the staff was less then stellar. The product was common knowledge in the industry and will not provide extra brag points. Finally the product..... 2 products were promissed. 1 was delivered.

Idk yet. Once the exam is completed, I can post the experience I am given.
