I have had cell phone service through My Family Mobile through Walmart/ Team Mobile for 3 years then I added a line to my account for my daughter because I was told by one of their representitives that it would save me money. When I got the bill the next month I was charged just as much as I would have been if I hadn't added a line so I called their customer service department and the person I spoke with or should I say tried to speak with said that if I paid the bill for that month that my next months bill would be cheaper so I did. Then I got this months bill and not only was it the same but they had cut out my data plan so they cut my service and charged me the same amount. I then called their customer service again and again got someone that can barely speak english and by this time I was very angry I told them that I was not going to pay for a service that I did not recieve and they had the audacity to hang up on me. I decided to wait until I calmed down to call them back and when I did I got yet another person who couldn't speak english but what I could understand was that they were going to fix my phone plan yet they never did and now they want me to wait 72 hours and let their techs work on the problem only when I tried to email the address they had given me so that I could get my bill adjusted it was a dummy address.
MY FAMILY MOBILE IS A SCAM !!!! They only hire people that bearly speak english to man their customer service phones so that they can get away with ripping people off
I purchased an "activiation pack" from my local WalMart store for service in early February. I was told by the associate "this covers your first month of service" Either 100% innocent misrepresentation on the part of the associate, or outright fraud. By late February I moved my service to another carrier, because of numerous dropped calls. (blatantly inferior service delivery)
In Mid March, I received my first communication ever from Family Mobile (no emails, no bills, nothing prior) saying how they regret they have discontinued my service and I have an outstanding balance. (oddly this letter arrived exactly 5 weeks after I started service, when I was told to expect my first bill in about 3-4 weeks.)
When I called to speak to them about it, things escalated to the point I explicitly asked "I will pay the entire balance you state that I owe today, provided you agree that when I file a lawsuit against your company and your affilated companies, you will acknowledge I paid under protest" The supervisor obviously would not affirm that agreement.
To which, the supervisor I was speaking with proceeded to tell me, "To pay through customer service will include a $5 convenience charge"
What the heck? I just offerred to pay under protests, for a service I had never been billed for, and they want a convenience charge?
Save yourself a lot of headaches. Either don't do business with Family Mobile, or if you do business with them, pay them 6 months in advance so they don't have any reason to bother you (and feel free to enjoy their spotty service).
I called to complaint about the billing that sent to my home even though i cancelled months ago, They gave me the email address that goes to no where [email protected] it is a ghost address. We, the consumer should file a complaint to Better Business Bureau or to attorney general with the help of group of lawyers who charges only when they win on the amount of restitution.
Family Mobile claims you have unlimited talk, text, and data but in actuality you don't. They give you 2GB of data and when it runs out they slow your usage down and have what's called a speed booster you have to pay for in order for it to pick back up. I just read where another phone company is being sure for the same thing. It's not unlimited if they slow it down and i have to pay extra money
I bought a phone on my way to Vegas. I had it for one week. I turned it off after a week. I never got a bill until it said I was late. I contacted the company verified the amount was the same as what was on paperwork (bill). When close the account they cannot give you the money you. You have to wait to get the bill. You cannot pay it online because it is a closed account. The is no place to mail the payment. Soyou can go to walmart and pay but they charge you. You can pay it on the phone but they charge 5 dollars. I make the payment at walmart now they say I owe them .25 but I would have to pay 3.25. this is not a way to run a business. walmart or t-mobile needs to be accountable
In Nov of 2013 i found out that a second phone line was added to my family mobile account. I contacted my cell phone provider to find out why was i being charged for a line that i didnt authorize. They assured and apologized to me and was going to take that line off my account.The next month i noticed my bill was high again i contacted the phone company again and asked them why was this line still active they had turned it back on so i again requested for them to take this off my account which at that point i was speaking to a supervisor and she assured me that i wouldnt have anymore problems with my account. Here it is May of 2014 and this secnd line which i am still being charged for has gotten my phone line disconnected and i am very upset about this .
I shaquana spencer is requesting an adjustment on my account due to myself calling in for my 2nd line to be suspended and unfortunetly then dudnt suspend the line until june 29th 2014 .i have a bill thats 91.13 tgat i shouldnt be responsible for.i would really appreciate it if you would take care of the situation so that i coud pay my current bill and move on with my life, thanks for listening. I thought I would be very pleased with My Family Mobile. It was a bit inconvenient at first to have to go to a Wal_Mart to pay my bill. I finally got it on auto-pay. That's where they get you. I canceled the service because there was little or no reception in our area. Then I got a bill in the mail. So I called again today and was told that the service was never cancelled. How convenient to them that "they" had no record of cancelation. So now I have another month to pay. In addition, they send you texts on your phone. Naturally, I replied and said that the phone service was cancelled. I heard nothing back, so I presumed that all was fine. When I called today, I was told that they don't receive txt messages. How convenient. I received no error codes saying that they didn't receive text messages. Another Walmart is being built closer to me. But with no service, people will get ripped off. And if they try to cancel, they need to verify it some how to make sure they were. indeed, cancelled. Maybe they do this to milk that last payment from you. If that's their intention, they succeded. I still have to pay one more bill... oh... and there is no e-mail to leave a paper trail to prove your termination of the service.
