Purchased two of the Misfit Shine devices in November 2014. The product and iPhone app both appeared a good choice in the beginning. The tracking appeared mostly accurate and my only complaint was the product came off the wrist band with some frequency (every week or two). I was fortunate to notice and find it each time.
March 2015, well within the 12 month warranty the initial battery was low and the app reported replacement was necessary (both had the same battery life within a few days). I replaced the CR2032 battery in each and one worked for a minute and the other never came back even briefly. Even though the new batteries weren't too old, I bought a new set thinking maybe a bad batch of batteries. Not so! Still no life on the two Misfit Shines.
Since that time a lengthy back and forth with their customer service which has proven fruitless. The responses are days or weeks apart and no measure of information, serial numbers, or purchase details have resulted in replacement or repair. Given the online tracking component to the Misfit Shine they should easily see the serial number and length of use. A quick check of the BBB reflects an F rating and it seems I'm not alone.
At this point even if they developed a solid product I'd "shine" away from it.
