I washed my vehicle at a local carwash using only the spray, halfwasy through i realized I had thousands of scratches and many deep scratches all over my vehicle. some were so deep you could catch your fingernail on them. The paint on this new vehicle was destroyed. At first I thought it had to be intentional or maybe an animal, but later realized it was caused by an automatic carwash. Since I had been to Mikes Express Car Wash on Rte 4 in Fairfield the previous week it was determined this damage came from there. The vehicle hadnt been driven since then so it was obvious this damge was caused by their brushes and possibly by them running cars through it too fast or not properly rinsing the brushes between cars causing debris from previous cars to scrape across the following cars.
A body shop verified the damage was caused by a car wash and this is the only carwash this vehicle has ever gone through. and it went through one week prior to me seeing this damage.
I have no idea how many people are realizing their cars paint is damaged or if they realize what it is from yet. I will never go through one of these locations again, ever. when I pay 15.00 for someone to destroy my paint job.... they should be held responsible for damage like this. I tried calling them and guess what... the number isnt in service. No email address available and no one to contact. They owe me over 3,000 dollars at this point. my car has less than 10,000 miles on it and ruined paint. It makes me sick to even think about.
