We bought a tritoon, motor and trailer from an eBay listing. The purchase was negotiated outside of eBay. There were three sales contracts that had to be signed and scanned back to the dealer, as well as a transfer of the total purchase price to their bank before the listing was removed from eBay. There was a seperate purchase agreement for boat, motor and trailer, each with Id numbers clearly included. We signed all three agreements and transferred $17,900 to their bank. After a 10 hour drive to pick up the boat, we were told they had "good news". The trailer was different than the listing, but a year newer. Also, we didn't need any paperwork on the trailer, as trailers aren't registered in Missouri. We had traveled from Wisconsin, so believed them. We left with the boat and drove no more than an hour when we stopped to buy a spare tire for it. The tire dealer had to replace two tires, as they were worn to the wires. We then drove another 50 miles when we had a blow out on the new tire. Stopped at a tire/trailer repair shop, only to be told the axle was bent, and had to be replaced. When they looked for the vin Number to order the axle, they discovered it had been removed. So, the trailer I thought we were buying, as we left WI, was switched for one with no VIN number. When I contacted the dealer, he said they had "included" the trailer with the boat and motor. He also became very condescending and argumentative. The boat is still in Missouri, awaiting repairs. I am working with the BBB and law enforcement, because we are concerned that the trailer might be stolen. There were also many other things about the boat and motor that were not as described in the lusting. We were assured the mooring cover was in good condition. Just paid a canvas guy $165 to repair it. It was full of tears and holes. Do Not do business with these people. They act like they care about you. After the sale, it's a whole different story!
