The mechanic at midas muffler in ogden at 34th and washington told me in front of my 23 year old son my truck would not pass safety inspection unless I replaced both front brake pads and both front brake rotors for 300.00, He told me the rotors were too thin to have them turned. The pads were about 70% wore so I didn't mind replacing them, but the rotors were not very old.
After spending a hundred dollars on rotors and replacing them myself I thuoght the old rotors did not look bad so I took them to three different shops locally and they could not find anything wrong no warpage, and 95% of its original thickness without any damage grooves.
My other son age 20 and my wife both took the truck back to midas to get the Inpection signed off because I had to go to work, My son and wife took the rotors with them and asked why we did we have to replace them when they were still good, The mechanic still insisted they were bad.
I contacted Midas main office to complain, they said when they asked midas store in Ogden about this incident they were told that there was an advisement on rotors which is aTOTAL LIE, I have three witnesses besides myself that knows I was told to replace or not pass Inspection.
I think they should give me back the price I paid for the rotors because they were not bad, they wont reimburse me because they believe the LIES that midas ogden told them.
I paid $319.44 exshaut repair on my 1995 ford wranger pick up truck weld $10. labor $52.61,flex pipe 429.99, tail pipe $52.73, labor $21.04, muffler $85.25 labor $52.61. i didn't want the flex pipe. i called customer service the number i gave you and was teated rudely by Ron LLewellyn.
