Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee Reviews
Feb 28, 2015
I've been insured with "health insurance" company since 2004. Thankfully, I've been in good health and have only used this insurance for health maintanence. They were ok in paying claims (even though my out of pocket fees were still high)- but I don't blame them for this as I agreed to the coverage.
I had set up an automatic payment deduction with my bank to make sure my premiums were timely paid. During the 10 years, there were some increases in premium but no more that what was going on nationally with other insurance companies
In November of 2014, I received a letter from them saying that they would no longer be offering health insurance to California residence and that they would be terminating my policy by February of 2015.
They offered assistance in finding and securing alternate health plans so as not to be in violation of the Affordable Health Care Act (a.ka. Obamacare).
Thankfully for Obamacare, I was able to get a reasonable health plan on my own.
I noticed that even though I no longer had coverage through Mid-West National Life Insurance of TN, my premiums were still being deducted by them. I've notified my bank but I've been told that had to contact the payee to make sure they stop deducting.
I've been trying to call customer care foor about a week and the outgoing messages very from "our offices are now closed" to "our office is closed due to incliment weather"...Really??? They're in Texas!
Next step- I will contact the California Dept of Insurance and report this company. I'm sure i'm not the only Californian being victimized here....
Looks like there might be a Class Action Fed Rule of Civ Pro Rule 23 (B) (3) brewin...here
Anyone else getting screwed by Mid-West National Life Insurance of TN?
