When I bought my home I was informed that my AC and Heat Pump unit were under warranty until 2015. In the last year I have had to call Mid Fla out twice to repair my system. They charge an $80 trip and diagnostic fee and then outrageous labor fees for a SYSTEM UNDER WARRANTY. Last week I had to pay another $80 for a technician to diagnose that my thermostat was bad. He informed me that it was going to be AN ADDITIONAL $342 to replace the thermostat. This was the LABOR charge. For those who aren't familar...it takes about 10 minutes and isn't exactly rocket science. While he was looking for a thermostat in his truck I found one online for $185. Needless to say I will be changing it out myself and will NEVER call Mid Fla again! I will also be telling EVERYONE I meet to avoid them like the plague. I had heard horror stories about how they grossly overcharge in the past but since my system was UNDER WARRANTY I gave them a chance....NEVER AGAIN!! And just for the record I am not a competitor and USED to be a customer. After this last experience I began digging through the receipts and warranty papers left for me by the previous owner. Didn't take long to see how Mid Fla totally took advantage of this elderly lady and sold her everything that they could...needed or not!
