Miami-Dade County Water & Sewer Department Reviews
Mar 25, 2015
I have been on a mission since January 12, 2015, to have a leak adjustment credit applied. I forwarded the forms, along with picture, invoicing provided by my landlord and a copy of the payment from my landlord from their insurance company. I paid the percentage requested towards the balance as well, until the issue was resolved. I advised the employees at the time the information was submitted, that I was moving to a new residence at the end of January, and that if the inspection took place after that time, they would need to make arrangements with the owner (Who does not Live there, and did not have the water turned on yet after my departure, as Dwight told me today). I transferred my water service at the end of January to my new residence, and waited. At the end of February I received a call from the Water Department, stating they needed to make arrangements to inspect, I provided them with both the numbers I had for my landlord, as they must have forgot to take note of what was said in January, and I thought that was that, I was assured there would be nothing to worry about.
In the interim up until today I kept checking my bill/balance to see if it had been adjusted, until finally I called this morning. I spoke with Dwight in the customer service department, whom by the end of the conversation I was very frustrated with. He said someone went there on 3/4/15 and a red truck was in the driveway, but no one answered the door... So, I asked him if anyone had tried to re-contact the owner and where does that leave me, and he said I had to be there. Again, I stated I don’t live there, I work Monday through Friday at a law firm in the Gables, and why did I have to contact the landlord, which I have tried to do as well with no avail (My Guess is they either didn’t record the phone numbers I gave them, or they feel they are too busy to perform their job (Customer Service). Where does this leave me??? It’s obvious there was a problem, my bill doubled in the last two quarters of 2014, and I still have no resolve, I provided pictures, bills and payment receipts for the repair of the pipe in an interior wall of the home. What Would Have Happened Had I Not Kept Following Up, Received A Bill That Stated Oh Well, Even Though You Gave Us All This Information, And We Assured You We Would Be Diligent In Helping You, We Just Are Uncaring About Our Customers, That It Was Too Much Effort To Help????? I should receive this credit; I did what I was asked to do. I find it somewhat amusing that the State has no jurisdiction over Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer, because someone besides the newly elected Director should, you can’t even email him directly, I wonder why, could it be because he knows he would be inundated with these types of complaints???
