My husband ordered a 2 year subscription for a magazine from a neighborhood girl who was raising money for a project/education event. We paid up front with a check and received our magazine within a timely fashion. It was the wrong magazine - we ordered a gardening magazine and we got Time Out NY which is not what we wanted. I cancelled the subscription directly through the magazine who said I would be receiving a refund. I waited and then contacted their customer service to inquiry as to when I would receive the refund. They said i had to contact this company directly which I did.
When I had originally cancelled the subscription via email to Time Out NY, I disposed of the receipt from Magazine Fulfillment Services since the email said I would be receiving a refund. That was a mistake because after speaking to Magazine Fulfillment services, they said they needed that yellow piece of paper in order to issue me a refund, despite the fact they asked for my address first, confirmed it and I have a magazine subscription account number as well. Also, why would they need proof of my payment since you cannot even receive the magazine without paying for it up front?
So, we are out of $40.00 and I am here to warn people to not purchase a magazine subscription from these folks. They are thieves. I'm making a BB claim now too but I'm not confident that I will receive our money.
