In our experience, this company and subsequently the employees offer poor customer service for companies producing under $5000 a month in credit card transactions.
Originally MeridianStart MS started us with a new POS System for our retail clothing store. They charged us extra for a label porinter (needed to label clothing) then charged us $00.00 for a LCD Pole Display that was supposed to be included. (in their POS System photo)
We paid for the items without dispute after they withdrew the money from our account without informing us that the hardware was not included. Fine. Okay.
As for the computer itself, with our inventory, it filled up the partitioned hard drive within 7 months. MeridianStar claimed that it was our fault because we used the POS for internet. (looking up items to determine costs) So, they sent a "new" POS Computer. The computer arrived with a huge scratch on the screen, flour/white powder on the machine and an extermely loud fan.
After disappointing customer service, (save Alex Mendez, as he is their best employee) we agreed to disagree and cancel theit merchant services permanently. Once we canceled, we were still hit with multiple fees which caused overdrafts to the tune of over $300. (multiple occassions on different days) Then after reversing the charges, they snuck in ourbank account using a different name than before withdrawing $551.00.
Finally, after being promised by Brandon Weiss that we would receive our shipping fees back for sending their 2 computers and hardware back, we were duped again and never received the $74.00 in shipping charges back.
Most of our customers paid cash and we believe that I were discriminated against because of the small amount of monthly transactions that we used through merchant services. We had a lot of issues with their hardware and ultimately spent a lot of time on the phone with their technician, Alex Mendez. Alex is the best asset MeridianStar MS has but wasn't enough, unfortunately, to keep us onboard.
Small Businesses Beware
As a Christian-based company, we always try to do our best to honor opur committments and work with honor and integrity. I do not believe that we were treated the same.
We couldn't agree more with the rest of the comments! We are currently in the same situation with Meridian Star as they have debited different amounts totaling $2,3000 after our contract has ended. We are in the process of processing our complain with the Better Business Bureau but it seems that Brandon (who is actually the VP of the company) is purposely avoiding all the proofs we have provided and decides to instead offend rather than clear the company's name. I advice everyone to look into The Better Business Bureau case#: 90284957 and see for yourself how this company treats its long term customers.
