I called and order Mediacom internet, phone, and cable services back in December 2014. Since then I've had nothing but trouble with the internet and cable service. I have called mediacom over 25 times and they've either tried to fix it over the phone or sent someone out to fix it for a couple of days then it stop working again. Here lately my internet hair haven't been working hardly at all so I called them and they tried to trouble shoot it and they end up making service appointments. I've taken off from my job on three occasions between last week and today to wait on my service appointments. But to my surprise no one has shown up instead I've received emails satating my appointments been cancelled because I didn't answer my phone from both the tech and from a mediacom call center rep! Which isn't true because I never received neither called on neither appointments and I'm missing time off from my jobs for these appointments. So when I called back in all I'm being told is all they can do is reschedule me for another day! I've been rescheduled three times in one week due to them lying to me saying they called me even when I'm sitting home waiting on them! I'm sick of Mediacom and the way they treatb their customers something need to be done to them! I'm paying for something that don't even work!

Recently Mediacom ran a "deal" if you drop your satellite cable they would give you a package that included cable, phone, and internet for $69.95. Of course no one expects an American company to actually charge you what their ads say they are going to charge you. You can always expect atleast 10% or so higher.

So I dumped my satellite provider and got the package. I faxed in a copy of my Direct TV bill as I was told. I get my first bill and even though I had been hooked up nothing on the bill had changed. It was actually too low. Turns out it was from the old account and they hadn't combined the two. Then they say they didn't get the fax. So I have to go in person showing my ID, Marriage License, and my Direct TV bill to get the bill in the right name and to find out the right amount.

This month I get a bill for $142.67. I contact Mediacom via chat. I can't paste a copy of the chat but here it is in a nutshell. You will be able to find it on complaint boards since I am contacting everyone I can find and posting the lie after lie after lie as I expsose them.

(1) they try to tell me I didn't pay my previous bill. *New bill shows I did.

(2) they try to tell me the extra is Taxes, Surcharges, and Fees. *New bill shows that to be about $16.00

(3) They tell me because of the overwhelming response to their offer the discount can take up to 30 days to take effect. *That's there problem not mine.

(4) At the end of the conversation they want me to submit for a 3rd time my information for the discount.

And here's a kicker. They don't even have my name right on the account. They don't have my phone number on the account after telling me 2 prior times they didn't have it and I gave it to them. They didn't have the last four of my SSN for security which was given to them also 2 times.

This is Business As Usual for Mediacom. I'm now waiting for Direct TV and Century Link to give me prices so I can drop these frauds once and for all.

Refuse to install my tivo equiment want to upsale me there equiment. then damage my tivo DVR extender. I got mad because i could not get no working tv after i paid them $96.78 and canceled my account. I could not get no tv service. then they damaged my personal equiment by knocking it to the floor. this cable company is stuck in all antalog and can not provide digital cable equiment for any tivo. they are stuck 10 years behind in service. with a careless auttide. now i had to open a ticket to get my property fixed. i will update if i ever get my tivo DVR extender replaced or not. I had to call the police here in plymouth nc and file a complaint. nothing but problems with this cable company.

Today after receiving my bill i decided enough was enough and posted this on Mediacoms customer service forums as well on social media sites im part of. shortly after i was banned from mediacoms customer service forums. seems mediacom has gotten paid for services they hardly provided at the LOWEST level possible.. while costing its customers in lost wages.. lost time.. and increasing the agrivation felt. well here is the post that i made today.

"mediacom may have the power to simplify .. but apparently it also has the power to totally confuse its customers.

after MANY calls about service being poor, after many service calls that was repeats of poor trouble shooting, many days of time taken off work, i finally get my service working ( for the time being anyways ).

what im still trying to figure out is how mediacom has any customers left after all this poor service and even poorer customer service. i was told for about a year ( since about march i think of 2012 ) that once the problem was resolved that credit would be applied to my service BUT that they needed to resolve the problem first. well i got my bill with the credits applied.. 75.00.. for a year of poor service.

now while this seems reasonable to some lets look at the math involved. multiple days off to be here for a service tech .. 70.00 each time. ( probley 10 plus in the year )

monthly service 180.00 or there about replacing routers and cables to make sure it wasnt my fault.. about 120.00 ( i actually replaced 2 routers in the year to make sure ) the countless hours spend on the phone .. on hold.. waiting for managers or supervisors to call.

starts to add up dont it.. specially when im paying them for this far below par service.

the real fun starts when the fact that we work nights and i have to either stay up to be ready for them to show up., or wake up at 4am .. atleast for me its 4am since we work nights ..

when they do show up its to tell me the same thing over and over " we dont see anything wrong " yet the agent on the phone said " i will make sure they see whats going on and will leave a note regarding it. WE WILL GET THIS FIX!"

waking up to receive a phone call from a manager... never getting the call .. and then when i call in to find out what happened to be told the manager wasnt able to reach me at the number cause there was no service .. umm mediacom .. I HAVE MEDIACOM PHONE .. doesnt this say there is a problem that should be resolved asap ? is the managers this inept that they dont do any thinking about why a customer would be escalated to a manager and try to trouble shoot ?

ok .. im starting to ramble cause the more i think about what i want to write the more that i remember that is making me hate mediacom. so i will make one last statement and then end this.

when you promise a customer something.. be it a repair .. credit .. or even something as simple as a phone call, as a company you must make this happen. if you dont then you lose customers faith in your product.

how does a company operate this way and get away with it? i know for one i will be looking into other services even if it has to be dialup in my area.
