Purchased a Maytag 5000 Series dryer with steam. Nearly $800 at Home Depot. Less than four years later, the dryer needs a new heating element. $99 for the "first" service call. Have to wait one week for the part. $340 - $350 for the part. And of course, another $99 for the "second" service call. That's at least $540 to repair an $800 dryer.
Like everyone else I'm reading about, I did not purchase an extended warranty. I thought I was spending the extra money on the initial purchase to buy a higher quality product from a more reputable company. Wrong!
There are two adults who live in this house. We work 60 to 100 hours per week. We don't have time to do laundry. Half of our clothing goes to the dry-cleaners! So this isn't a household with 19 kids. I'm not talking about a dryer that never got turned off. This is ridiculous.
I foolishly spent $800 on one of Maytag's products thinking I would get ten years of good service. That's $80 per year to own the thing. I want my $480 back for the six years of service your product failed to provide.
What is the environmental impact of your corporation pumping such disposable trash out into our environment? Who is looking into that? How irresponsible is it for a corporation to manufacture such trash with the full expectation that it's going into a landfill in "less than" four years?
What was Maytag's solution to the problem? "We'll essentially give you an employee discount on a new product." Well, that would be wonderful, but you need to give me a discount on another company's product. I will "never" again have a Maytag appliance in my home. I have already began and will continue informing every person who will listen about my experience with your products. I told the Maytag person on the phone that I would never even accept a free dryer from their company.
Maytag, you should be ashamed. If you cannot manufacture a better product, if you cannot provide better customer service and stand behind the products you make, and if you cannot be more environmentally responsible, you should be out of business.
Your corporation and this product has reaffirmed a belief in me: This country is incapable of producing anything that isn't disposable garbage. I do not purchase American vehicles because they're disposable garbage. And from today forward, I will do my best to purchase as few products as possible that are manufactured by American corporations.
I purchased a new home on May 1st I used my brand new dishwasher for the first time on 5/7/15 it poured water out on my new homes floor I called the home builders number and he turned in service request on 5/8/15 he was told that a repair person would be in touch and call me to fix problem as of 5/14 no call the builder again reached out to his supplier rep no return call no email until 5-22 when the builder was informed that the homeowner had to contact Maytag directly at 8002531301 I called a minute after we got off the phone I was on hold for over an hour a representative picked up and we conversed and the customer service rep apologize she said her system was locking up she asked me to bear with her while she placed me on hold. approx. 30 mins later the phone disconnected me from hold. I called back about 35 mins later I got to speak to a human and she was helpful finding me in the system and apologized for the problem she informed me that a tech would not be available till the following week I said that was unacceptable and asked to be transferred to a supervisor who tried to get a repair company out that same day the best she could do was 5/27/15 I expressed my displeasure and asked to speak to her supervisor she said all she could do was to have a supervisor call me back 24-48 business hours later she assured me I would be contacted to date no one has called.
affordable appliance repair came out and accessed the unit he said it looks like it may have been dropped or damaged in shipment and the unit needed all new drain hoses and replace the seals as it is leaking from every possible point under the unit he said it would be at least 7-10 days for the parts to come in at which time he would call to set appointment he said really the unit should be replaced he was going to stop and speak to builder. Builder requested new unit his supplier told him only the home owner could request replacement and he was directed by his supplier to have me contact customer care. I called in and was told that was not an option the customer service rep was authorized to do he placed me on hold while he contacted affordable appliance repair he found out that the service tech has not completed his call notes or ordered parts as of yet I asked to be transferred to a supervisor
I next spoke to Emily who informed me that we have a legal binding contract to repair unit and all she could do is have me continue to wait. I asked to speak to Emily supervisor and was told she is not allowed to transfer she could put in a request to have them call me which I pointed out to her had yet to happen from last request. She slipped up and said that she was recommending replacement she quickly corrected herself to say repair I told her I agreed with the replacement recommendation said to have someone called to arrange a time she said all she was empowered to do was repair I asked again to be transferred she decline to do so but said she would put in request.
I am begging get me a working dishwasher tomorrow not some undetermined time maybe possibly be fixed when even the repair person you sent out said it should just be swapped out. Again it has never ever worked (unless you consider proper operation to spray large quantities of water from every possible point) bad out of the box I am tired of waiting a repair should be measured in hours of downtime not months.
I boughta Maytag Centennial Energy Star Top Loader Washing machine model#MVWC450XW2 Within 6 months it quit agititing and service man said transmission was shot and it would cost more to repair it than replace it. So I got a new one delivered and now less than 2 years later this one is now doing the same thing except I smelled smoke and unpluged it. When the bottom cover was taken off it appeares burnt on bottom pad and parts . Scary Fire Hazard It will not drain or spin properly and Maytag is of no help to me at all. I'm upset and in a pickle as to how to wash my clothes now with no washer. The online reviews of this washer many of the models are to many to read. I'm need to know how I can persue this cause it is not right to sale a LEMON and this Maytag washer has been a nightmare for me and many others Nationwide. How can a company get away with doing this? This washer sounded like a jet engine takeing off and has dented itself from the violent spin cycle. Please someone tell me where to go from here.
Installed a maytag M1200 series system in Aug 2009. 12 year warranty -supposedly. 1st leak in coil 04/2011. Coil had another leak 05/2014. Warranty refused. Nordyne's 3rd party warranty company went bankrupt. Nordyne's new warranty company refuses to honor my warranty. All of my paperwork and warranty info has Nodyne's name it. No 3rd party mentioned. Nordyne should honor the warranties on these units.
Control panel went out on 8 month old Maytag Washer model MHWE950WW01. Parts are no longer available. Washer has been discontinued. (Maybe because it sucks. They replaced the entire drum/tub at 2 months) After 3 months of waiting on hold and for them to call back, Maytag finally agreed to send a free replacement washer under warranty. I wanted a matching dryer, so I had to pay for it. They will not let me keep the dryer purchased with the broken washer. So I had to pay for 2 dryers. Have been waiting 6 months for the replacement washer. They charged my credit card and sent the matching dryer at 5 months. Have made more than 10 phone calls with waits of 30-70 minutes before talking with someone. The department I need to talk with is never available and they will not give me direct line or email. They are not calling me back or sending the washer.
My $1400 Maytag Bravos washer and dryer have both quit working and it appears that repairing them isn't worth the expense. The internet reports a very large problem with these units. Maytag doesn't seem to be concerned. Before you consider any Maytag appliance, buyers should check the internet reports first. The company is almost operating a scam with these products!
I have become highly disappointed in the Customer Service that I have received over the past week from Maytag. It started when my fridge began clicking throughout the day. I figured that it would stop after a couple of days.
Well it has been about 17 days now, and there is no end in sight. I reviewed many other reviews online, and it appears that this issue has been going on for some time now, with no solution. I called Maytag about this concern. The first young employee told me that I would get a call back from a team that the subordinates send these request to within 5-7 business days. That request was on a Monday.
I noticed that the fridge began to lose some of it's temperature because the ice dispencing flap was opening and closing. I called in a second time the following Thursday. This employee stated that someone will be calling me within 24-48 business hours. Again....no follow-up. I take the time out of my day to call them a third time on the following Monday. Again I am told that i will have a follow up within 24-48 hours.
It is now Tuesday night. Wednesday at 10 AM will make 48 hours. Have I received a single call back.....No. This ""High Valued Fridge"" has caused our family to stay up for long periods at night. I have a 5 month old that can hear this fridge on the second story of our home. Yes....it is that loud. Would I recommend this fridge to anyone....NO!!!! Will I let this go.....NO!!!!!!
I have worked in a Call Center setting for 6 years, and would expect someone to be on a corrective action for not following up. I have had 3 different employees tell me that I will have a follow up, yet no resolution.
What do I expect as a consumer? I want Customer Service. I don't want something that I do not deserve. That is not my motive. However, I do expect a company to find a way to solve this growing concern that many customers have provided.
Recently my Maytag (MFI2568AES) fridge starting having issues. The ice machine flap would just open and shut over and over and over again. I google the problem online and was shocked to see how many people have had the same problem with numerous Maytag fridges but they all have the same problem. The HV board is faulty.
Not only is Maytag not doing anything to correct the problem; the part needed is and has been out of stock with no real estimate as to when this will be resolved. I tried ordering the part from them because their site showed it was available, but after waiting a few days I called to check on my order and thats when they said it was out of stock and has been that way. They didn't know why their site showed it was in-stock.
This company has some serious issues, they are selling faulty appliances and not even stocking the part to correct it!!!
