I purchased a used boat from Mau Marine that was listed on Ebay as "Very Good Condition, Inside and Out". Turns out the transom of the boat was COMPLETELY rotted. The plywood core was totally shot, the outer hull was cracked in several places and the outboard motor was about to fall off. This boat was UNSAFE to even put in the water! Since I had to drive 10+ hours to Iowa to pick up the boat and 10+ hours back to my home in Oklahoma, trying to return this purchase was not really an option for me.I contacted Matt Lange (the sales Mgr) and explained the issue. He asked for photos and said that he needed to address the issue with the "higher ups". A day later he emailed me thanking me for the photos and said he would promptly address the issue and get back to me. Now one month later I have heard nothing from Matt. He will not take or return my calls and will not respond to email.
Understand that all that I asked for was a partial refund of my money, just enough to cover the cost of the materials for me to repair the boat myself. It is very dissapointing for me to learn that instead of dealing with honest people at a respectable marine dealership; I am instead dealing with dishonest people employed by a marine dealership that has no idea of what the word "integrity" means. Very Sad and SHAME on YOU MAU MARINE.
