On 4/19/15 I purchased a Sealy Optimum 2.0 Inspiration Gold II, mattress. The mattress was not delivered and money has not been refunded. My wife and I have been suffering from back pain due to our mattress sags in the middle. We started looking to buy a new mattress, we made a lot of researches and visited different stores in Miami Dade and Broward to test the mattresses; most of the visits were made to Mattress1one stores located at 1861 NE 163 St, North Miami Beach, 2970 Aventura Blvd, and 24 NW 36 St, Midtown-Miami. On those weeks many companies were offering free pillows, mattress covers, free delivery, 0% interest, and beat any competitor's price.
On April 19, 2015 we responded to the advertising from Mattress1one stating that a sale was going on in store located at 1861 NE 163 St, North Miami Beach with up 75% price off, this was our third visit to this store. In the store we met Mr. Joshua Tabraue and we purchased a Sealy Optimum 2.0 Inspiration Gold II, firm Queen mattress, the one we determined would be the best solution to our problem.
We agreed to have the mattress delivered on April 21 on or around 4:00 p.m. On that said day around 5:00 p.m. I received a call from Joshua who told me that Mattrees1one could not deliver the mattress because the only one in warehouse was stained. He offered me an upgraded to a more expensive mattress with a 10% discount or a refund of the amount paid. I told him that we can't afford a mattress over our budget and we can't wait more time sleeping in our mattress causing hard pains to us.
We made three visits to the store and requested to talk to the store or district's manager, but Joshua told me that his manager stated that nothing can be done, except refund our money on or about 21 days, or accept the upgrade paying the full price of desired mattress less 10% discount. None of these options are acceptable to us. On 4/25/15 around 6:15 p.m. we requested the refund of the money for invoice #NMB0256.
On 4/25/15 an email was sent, on 4/27, 4/30, 5/1 calls was placed, but no one answered our calls from Orlando headquarter. As of today 5/4/15 I did not received my refund for a product that was never delivered.
DON'T EVER STEP FOOT OR SIGHT AT THIS PLACE. This place doesn't even deserve one star. The sales man Matt is a shady, fake, lying sales person, and calling him a person is being very kind. Even when I was there another customer came in complaining that he bought his $700 mattress in January 2015, and never got it delivered or his money back! He didn't even handle the situation right, didn't even help the poor man. Too bad that when this happened I had already payed $500, while the rest was being financed. Now the reason why I payed $500 up front was because he "needed" to turn the sale in so that way it would be delivered next day (FIRST LIE). In my situation, he tried selling me a $1200 mattress, and promising it would be delivered the next day (Saturday), then he added that if the delivery people couldn't, "he would do it himself". (SECOND LIE) If I already payed and signed papers so it would be delivered next day, why would he offer his own delivery? (CREATING SUSPICION) While we were almost finishing, he offered if we wanted to take it home today, and so he would help us tie it to our car, wanting to have the mattress right away, I said yes. (MY MOM WAS SUPER SUSPICIOUS AT THIS POINT, AND ASKED HIM IF HE HAD THE MATTRESS THERE BECAUSE USUALLY THEY HAVE IT AT THE WAREHOUSE) He said yes. When pulling up my car, I see that he is grabbing the FLOOR MODEL (Dirty, disgusting, used, with everyone's dead skin, hairs, and who knows what else) I got off the car and said what? The floor model? No, no, no! He NEVER mentioned it was the floor model that he was selling us! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER! AND WHO WOULD PAY $1200 FOR A USED FLOOR MODEL ANYWAYS? Crazy. He showed his true colors, a shady, fake, lying sales person. The poor other customer was right! I don't know how this company has these kind of sales people. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED! After this he called the general manager, Greg Bill, I explained to him what happened and he said he would get this taken care of, but I had to wait until Monday and that then it would take 5-7 business days to get my money back; which, I thought was RIDICULOUS. While also, this "general manager" wasn't being serious at all, at times he was even laughing. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I also called the police, filed a report, and called my bank, which they said that if by Monday I don't get my money back, they are canceling the transaction themselves. The police said the same thing, if I don't get my money back by Monday, I have to contact them. I'm not the other poor customer waiting MONTHS to get his money back. NO WAY! Wrong person to mess with. TERRIBLE BUSINESS!
As of January 1st 2015 MATTRESS 1 ONE'S licence to do retail installment loan is/has been inactive up to and including today March 11th 2015. The mattress we bought on labor day weekend salee. Bedframe wheels popped off in 1 week. The mattress right side started to colapse. Bottom same. Turned mattress after first week the two weeks later the left side had something that hurt my left thigh. Turned the mattress again right side collapsed and fell on floor. Have been back and forwarth with orlando com. Sent pictures, given 799.00 credit told to go use it to get new mattress. I went to 4 the street mattress one on 62 have.n. and 4 the st in St. petersburg,FL 33702. Mattress was to be deliveredon that friday January 19,2015 that Monday wehad been to pick it out. Friday came to delever Daughters and my mattress. Jonas c.? Brought in her mattress ask to see mine. Said fine. Next thing I am told mattress not on truck. What! Call supposely to find out why not on truck when he had invoice of what was on truck. Left the drivers did. Have talkedto Brittant, katherine, Bianca last person.She is talking to rep. Mattress 1 One in Texas likes to cheat the elderly. I called about an incomplete delivery – missing $180 worth of bedding from my elderly mother’s purchase. They had been stringing my mother along for months talking about back order slips items from items already paid for. She made over 4 calls over a 6 month period in 2014 getting stories about delays and not to worry it is coming. I overhead the last such conversation with Mattress One in July 2014 including the part about their shipping record show they owe her the 2 pillows.
I got more involved recently after she passed away, they “laughed” about the situation.
They said they would not deliver the pillows nor issue refund since it had been too long a time since the original sale. They also disputed the notes I had from past conversations with my mother effectively stating they never happened. The sale rep said I should be happy since a year or so ago Mattress1 was much worse and at least she did receive the actual mattress itself. The Specific people involved their “run around” operation included: sales representative Diana and customer service lead Jackie. I also heard interesting claims from Mattress1 staff about a Middle Eastern owner ~ Zayed and his political affiliations, his unwillingness to deal with customer complaints and treatment of staff onsite.
Customer service staff even suggested I complain to BBB and Rip Off report?
In spite of all that, no help and no refund received for non-delivered products! Just wasted time and aggravation… Email requests for help to mattress1.com where ignored.
Dishonestly along with crazy internal company politics seems to be the earmark of Mattress 1 One and their total disrespect for customers being a standard way of doing business.
