I submitted a request for a refund on February 19, 2015 because I decided I would not be attending the classes I had paid for that were set to start on June 1, 2015. It took me about 2 weeks to get to talk to someone who could "help" me with this issue, after which I was told that I would have to send out a certified letter stating my desire for a refund.
The school received my letter on 3/1, after which they told me I would receive a full refund of $8,250 in 30 to 60 days. I checked back in mid-April to get a status update because the 60 day mark was 5/1 & I was told that they wouldn't have an update for me until June, outside of the scope of time I was promised a refund. Since then, I have had no response from the school. We have been talking to attorneys and it seems like this organization does this a lot. They are extremely difficult to get in touch with (when it comes to refunds, but supppper easy when it comes to incoming students).
I was able to get $2225 refunded from my bank after making a claim through them, but the remaining $6025 was paid at the end of last year, outside of the timeframe my bank could help.
A friend of mine had this same issue with this school, & was only able to get her money back by filing a claim through her bank also. My advice is, stay far, far away from this school. Even if you know for sure you would go, why would anyone want to deal with an organization that is so shady & doesn't abide by their word.
A lawyer reached out to another raw school I had gone to last year mistaking that school for MKC & said that a lot of students had come together to sue MKC because the school refused to give them their money back when a location that was set to open never did.
Matthew Kenney Culinary ows me $ 4,455 but is ghosting.
I cancelled my participation for Level II as per Matthew Kenney Culinary's terms and conditions. They state:"Full refund On shall be issued if cancellation is issued in writing (via certified mail) at least 30 days prior to the first day of course."
I have been trying to follow up and correspond with Matthew Kenney Culinary since March 2015 but until today July 2015 withut success.
