I joined Match.com in May 2015 and I have had nothing less than horrible experiences. On June 15th 2015 I went out with this woman and on the date she was asking about a Stephan Hawking movie, I told her I did not like it, she went into a rage and started yelling, so I got up and told her I was taking her home, she became worse and I went down to my car and waited, she got in and as I was driving she was threating me that this was not over and she was going to call 911 and claim I was drunk, I pulled over and asked her to get out of my car, which was at the next gas station, as she got out of the vehicle she dialed 911. I drove off and went home to file a complaint with Match.com, stating the same story I have shared here

TYhe next day my account was locked out, I tried to restore the password and to no avail, I wrote an email asking for help to restore. Well they had removed me and blocked me out? after many emails and chat sessions they refused to close my account and refund my money, they emailed me however they gave no reason, excuse and I was told I would get a call. they closed me account and kept to months of my money

they gave no reason, kept the money and just ripped me off

Beware, find another dating site that is reputable and has a policy if you disagree that you will be refunded you money due

Do not use, or refer your friends, in fact this is happening at an alarming rate and there needs to be a class action suit. anyone willing please reachout and I am in, this is about principal

Match.com is an online dating/hookup service that is almost impossible to cancel. I ahve to dispute through my back credit card as they will not let you cancel when requested

Match.com offers services similar to sites like e-harmony. However when you go to view profiles of those that are interested in you, their profiles are unavailable to be viewed. Upon, my discovery of this I cancelled my membership and request a refund as they charge for six months of service up front and I have only used one month. Do not use this site least you fall victim to this scam as i have.

It appears that Match.com is now automatically deleting all viewable dating contacts that are older than 30 days -- unless communications with the contact continues during that time!!! This HORRIFICALLY decreases the value of the dating sight since often times people want to go back to earlier contacts and re-initiate communications with them. Say for example someone you contacted leaves for vacation for several weeks and therefore there has been no communicaionts during that time. Uou will then have virtually no time left to recommunicated with that person before MATCH.COM eliminates from your view all records of your communications with him or her!!! This almost forces members to continually renew and re-pay for the service in order to start all of with NEW CONTACTS. Can you imagin how aggravating that it??? Forget about 30-day or older contacts that may be interested in reconnecting with -- they won't be avalable contact you anymore though MATCH.COM!!! YET MATCH.COM is constantly encouraging its members to sign up for 60 and 90 memberships. Think of the hypocracy - sign up for 90 days and yet your contacts will be automatically deleated after every 30 days! I actually hope Match.com has an answer or solution for this, or that there is something I am missing. Othersiwe, I STRONGLY recommed readers to avoid MATCH.COM and go to a service that does not impost this incredibaly disabling situation on its users. - Mike

Unauthorized charge on my card. No effort to resolve. Match.com charged my credit card (on file) $129.54 because I hadn't met eligibility requirements for the "6-month guarantee." This occurred January 24th, 2015. There was no warning email indicating a charge was imminent nor a warning I hadn't met their requirements.

Supervisor (Jose) was verbally rude and refused to grant a refund or even try to resolve the issue. I truly feel that that company took $129 without permission and doesn't care that I have legitimate concerns. I've also written a formal complaint to their corporate offices in Dallas. No response.

After filing complaint on BBB, they gave a partial refund and then cancelled membership. They do not reutrn calls to get a true resolution. Here is their corporate office number to complain to corporate reps: (214) 576-9388. This company isolates it's staff other than lower level customer service and supervisors. Use above number for results. Good luck!

I went on match.com and was interested in their services. I paid $98.96 for a 6 months subscription that was not approved. In other words and for no matter the reasons, the funds were taken from me without providing me with the services promised.

The subscription, payment, and the non-activation of my new subscription and account were all done within a couple of hours. I did not get to use their website. They refuse to refund the money and they inform that they cannot disclose the.

I would want to know the reason but it is really not the point at all here. I tried emailing them and making sense so many ties that it is not fair to collect money for something they did not provide or approve from minute 1.

All my emails were replied to with what looks like an automated email mentining the same thing which was that they are sorry they can't refund me because of a violation which they can't provide me with.

This is a very unusual situation and I would even let it go if I used their site for just one day but I have not and it makes wanting to make sure they refund every penny.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I was removed from Match.com even though my subscription has not run out. After three months of trying to communicate unsuccessfully with other members, I suddenly found that my profile was shut off. I am not going to give anybody my credit card info, so I purchased a Visa at the store with a set amount, to purchase my membership. I did this twice on Match, mainly because I dont want this recurring billing to occur. I recently changed my search criteria at the site so that I could go and find my profile, and low and behold, it was no where to be found. Then I changed my search criteria to reflect only members that were my age only, and still my profile was no where to be found. Where`s my profile? No wonder Im not getting any communication, no one can see my profile. I am a paying member and this is the way Im treated. I have made attempts to try and communicate with Match, but to no avail.

They have no customer service.

Match.com is only interested in how much money they can extort out of you. Lets say I send someone a message on the site. Match wants you to pay in order to find out if that person recieved that message. But! I already paid.

Match is displaying profiles of people that are not paying subscribers. I believe that a lot of these profiles are fictitious profiles or borrowed profiles used to entice people into membership or extortion of funds.

So you find someone on the site that really appeals to you, and you try and communicate with them. Match does not inform you that this is not a paying member and they can not read your emails unless they too are a member.Well why would you advertise people on your site that are not full fledged paying members. Otherwise you are creating false hope. I must have sent out two hundred emails. Me and others are being abused by this company.

I joined Yahoo.Match.com laverst year to meet new people online. My membership was for three months membership. For the last few weeks, I have been locked out from my account. I've tried numerous times to change my password and log-in, ith no success. I sent several emails to customer service, and got no response, what so ever. My membership is supposed to be active until Feb 7, 2015, but was deactivated, without explanation for at least three weeks now, and no refund was issued to me, either. I paid for a full three month membership, which was not honored by YAHOO.MATCH.COM ! ! !

On January 16, 2015, Match.com charged my credit card after I cancelled the services preventing auto-renewal. In addition, I noticed someone was on my account sending emails for the month of January 2015. However, when I notified Match.com alerting them of fraudulent activity on my account, they did nothing except to say they were sorry and could not refund the auto renewal amount back onto my credit card.

Therefore, this proves why anyone who is out seeking a soul mate should never do business with Match.com regardless of their commercials etc. Instead, many should look into the free dating sites. I found my finance' but not on Match. In conclusion, Match.com is a waste of money. The site is filled with women and men who have waited over a decade to start back dating, in which spells a high turnover rate and has a higher than the normal liability rating for anyone who is really looking for a long term relationship.

Simply, if you want to give your money to Match.com and scroll through employee created profiles then Match.com is for you. IF you want to date real women are real men then check out the free dating sites such as POF. etc. Let's work together using our 1st Amendment to stop unethical business practices from companies such as Match.com. If you sign up for Match.com, get auto renewed by an unauthorized user, then you might as well kiss your money goodbye. Match.com is not designed to return funds, only take funds. That is why they offer: "The Match Guarantee". Think about it.

This individual is on Match.com posing as a surgeon out of Homer, Alaska working with other surgeons and does contracts to help soldiers over in Afganistan. As soon as we met online through the Match.com dating site he began asking me for my private email so that we could corispond while he was overseas. After about five weeks of coresponding through email and text, I was asked if he could have some of his personal belongings and medical equipment sent over to my home, which I did agree that he could do so that the items would be here for him when he arrived in a week.

Along the supposed travel of his items a probblem came about and the shipment needed further paperwork that would be at the cost of $1,500.00 USD, that Mr. Huffman kindly asked me to assit him with. Of course I refused and he became upset about my response. I did some reaserch on my own of his photoes and found them to belong to a man by the name of Jackson Henry on facebook.

When telling him of my find, this man became very abusive in his text. Have taken precausions to block him from contacting me and I am persuing every avanue to seek him out and let women know to be on the look out for this LIAR.

I want to express my absolute disgust and disappointment towards the customer service department and executive management team of Match.com regarding their manipulative and unethical business practices. Users beware - if you do not take your account off of auto-renewal for billing, you will be charged and denied a refund without any exceptions.

I called a few days after my 3-mth subscription expired when I discovered a new charge on my card. I had meant to cancel but because I didn't get a reminder notification that my account was about to expire, I didn't know the exact date so I forgot but didn't think it would be a big deal to call and let them know I wasn't planning to continue my service.

Apparently they put you on auto-billing when you first sign up for 'convenience so there are no lapses in service', which is really their sneaky tactic of charging you since they know not many people read fine print or will bother to change it. I spoke to three different account representatives, including someone at their corporate office and they were unwilling to help me in any regard. All they tell you is 'unfortunately, there's nothing we can do' like they are reading off of a script. What they are really saying is that, 'I am not going to put any effort into helping you fix this situation because you are not important to me'.

I can personally think of plenty of things they could do. The easiest would be to refund my money so I'd be a satisfied customer and potentially use their service again in the future and recommend their service to others. The second would be to offer me a credit of sorts...we don't refund but we'll give you 3 more months for free after this, or an upgrade to any other bonus features they offer. Third would be to pro-rate the date that I used their service and then refund me the rest of the subscription amount.

I would have been satisfied with any of these solutions but none of these were offered as a possibility, they just kept saying no. At no level, even the corporate office, did I speak to an employee competent or empowered enough to come up with a solution. The best they could do was offer me an address so I could write a letter....so that maybe my feedback would be considered by their management team. This is without a doubt the most frustrating experience I have ever had with a company, let alone a company that acts like they care about your personal happiness.

Then they sent me a customer service survey, which expires after 3 days, so now I am no longer able to give my feedback because that window has passed, so instead I'll publicly let people know how I feel. They also have horrible customer service hours (I live on the west coast) so they are closed by the time I get off work, and now they've even cancelled my account so that I am not able to use it - but they're keeping my money!! If they are not going to refund my money, they do not have the right to cancel my account.

This is an absolute scam, and they are crooks who need to be stopped. I have seriously never felt so disrespected and appalled at how heartless a corporation can be. You can bet I will be sharing my story with everyone I know and who will listen, because as a professional who has worked in customer service, marketing, and management - I know this is not how you do business or retain customers, and I do not want to see anyone else treated this way in the future. I am not an angry person or someone who wastes precious time and energy posting negative reviews or anything of the sorts normally, but I feel I need to take a stand here because I teach business classes to high school students, I run a store, and I have worked and interned at Fortune 500 companies, and this is just the lowest of the low that I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing as far as treatment from a company is concerned.

Match. Com will not let you cancel your subscription. They continue to charge your account $68.99 each month. Why is the Better Business Bureau allowing these people to scam their customers?

  • Nov 5, 2014

After being with Match.com for 7 months, I've learned and realized their business lacks integrity and definitely don't care about its customers and cares only about revenue. Ironically, Match.com is a company that's suppose to "HELP" people find love, and yet its not a people-oriented company at all!

Match.com automatically renewed my 6-months subscription with my consent. When I found out, they told me user can choose not to select automatic-renewal option. So basically, by default, when you first sign up to Match.com, the option of "6-month automatical renew" is setup in your account. As a user, you're not aware you had this choice until Match has already charged your credit card.

The "CORRECT"t business practice would have been:

1) By default, assign "non-automatical renew" for each user's setting.

2) When 6-months membership is about to expire, Match.com should send an automatic email to its customer informing them their membership has expired and request customers to renew again.

Also, apparently as I found out today, if you don't find a match within the first 6-months of subscription, you have 30 days to call Match and they will give you next 6 months for free. If you tell them after 30-days, it's too late and you will be charged for the 6-month description. WHY ARE USERS NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS?

So here I am, having been forced to continue another 6-months of membership with no option out.

I feel that it is so unjust and unfair for Match.com to do this to all of its customers.

For all those out there, please don't go thru the mistake I went through.

We discovered two unauthorized charges against our Visa card from Match.com We are not subscribers to this service and have absolutely no idea how our card number was compromised.

  • Sep 15, 2014

I was charged by Match.com for a subscribtion which I never consented or Authorized on my credit card . They are criminals are should be prosecuted for such credit card fraud.

  • Aug 18, 2014

They offer a 6-month guarantee and the restrictions are exceedingly hard to meet, especially if you start dating someone and they want you to hide your profile. But you do everything you are suppose to do, and even more, they'll still bill you at the outrageous renewal rate with NO WARNING, NO EMAIL REMINDER, NOTHING!!!! Then you try to get a refund and the "automated service" is only available during regular business hours M-F 8;5 PST! How is this an automated service to help you get your refund????

Even better, after you actually dig through their entire website to attempt to get an email or contact information, and you attempt to send an email to them, IT WON'T SEND!!!! You are stuck in a blackhole of nothing happening, meantime your account is draining faster than a mosquito sucking your blood.

As far as dating pool, a local bar is a better and cheaper bet. This place people are looking for fast hook ups and nothing worth a darn. My friend's been on there for 4 years throwing away his money. He's even driving an hour + to meet a girl. It's sad!

All I want is my money back.

Match.com nearly ruined my marriage to my husband of over 10 years. We were concerned if we had made a payment for a bill, so I told my husband to go and look at the bank statement. When my husband returned he was very angry. He wanted to know why there was a charge on our account for match.com. (my husband is a very jealous man) I told him I had no idea. I called the number listed on our statement 800-326-5161, which was closed at the time. I finally managed to calm him down somewhat, and convince him we needed to go to the bank, because unfortunately we are not the best at checking monthly bank statements and I wanted to know how long this rip off had been going on. unfortunately my bank could only go back three months, of which match had charged my debit card $40.98 each month.

While at the bank I called match again and managed to reach a women who was willing to refund only one month. I said No you will refund me everything you have taken out of my account, I did not authorize any charges to my debit card, and I did not appreciate the conflict this has caused my husband and myself. The match rep. stated she could only refund one month. I immediately asked for her supervisor, I stated I wanted to resolve this while at the bank, funny the rep. said get your money back from your bank. (Red Flag) She placed me on hold for several minutes, then again, then finally she stated her supervisor would need to call me back, he was on the phone... Big shocker no one ever called back.

We could not sit at the bank all day. so we returned home. (30 miles away) As soon as we walked in the door we had a messag from the bank to return immediatly, match.com was a scam and we needed to close our account. What a hassle, we got ripped off and we had to close our bank account, get new debit cards, call all our auto bill pay departments, get new checks, change my information at work for direct deposit. What a great way to spend the weekend on hold with lots of companies explaining why I needed to change info they had on file!

Match.com needs to be held accountable!
