I contacted Master Mechanical about an issue with my central airconditioner. I had a company respond to handle a unit which worked bu did not push out cold air. Upon examination I was informed that the system was icing up and they replaced the refridgerent. Four days later after being told to turn systemm off for a day and then turn it on it worked but over 4 days the system experienced the same problem. Frustrated after having spent 300 dollars for nothing I called only to learn the number was not in service. I found Master Mechanical through a largeadd in phone book and on internet. I explained problem and agreed to emergency visit on saturday.

The emergency call was 225 dollars. I showd the previous bills and explained situtation to their tech. He opened unit attached same gauge which meant nothing and told me I migh have slight leak. He did not examine any of the equipment in the atic or the thermostat in fact he did nothing to determine if there was a leak or another problem. He uggested a stop leak kit for 375 dollars which he didnt have on his truck . That he said may pinpoint small leaks and temporarily fix them but would not address laarger leak or other problem and the company didn't guarantee work. he put more coolent in for 175 dollars aadditional and left having done nothing else.

434.50 later the unit stopped working again 5 days later. Master Mechanicals anser was the leak kit may or may not work and if it doesn't it is another service chaarge and I have to get an estimate from boss which could be thousands to actually diagnose the leak or the actual cause of the problem. What did i pay 435 dolllars for an emergency visit for I thouoght it was to diagnose problem not to do nothing yet again and pump unnecessary refridgerent into problem.

to add to idiocy the company rep said well tech didn't know coolent wouldn't work he didnt intentionally charge me for nothing but if I folllowed his advice and tried stop leak kit he would have to drain the unit of the coolent he just charged me for. In the end they didnt offer to come back quicly and waive service charge the rep said I should talk to the tech and we should figure it out . really they took my money and did nothing but suggest I talk to the idiot who took my money and did nothing in first place. Iv hired someone else who agrees bad business on their part shame on this disgraceful company an emergency service call where history is explained and you do ABSOLUTLY NOTHING but take my 435.50 and tell me nothing you can do. i willl be forwarding letter to consumer affairs, better business, the Attorney General and if pennysaver accepts it I'll pay for an open letter to run for 4 weeks Im so disgusted.
