Let's see where should i began.....In my haste to quickly secure a vacation home. I went ahead and paid a $200 deposit to a crook. After paying the deposit I decided that I wanted to go and read the reviews on this house. But, I should have done this first. I noticed a negative review that was done January 2013 but Amy H. She stated that the house was a mess and had holes everywhere in the home. I then emailed the owner Mary Xu. Here is the email:
How are you? I have a question in regards to the house. I was just now reading the reviews. I just want to make sure that the house will be clean, with no holes in the wall and be assured that the pool heat in all is going to work. I just don't want any surprises when I arrive and want to be able to enjoy my stay. Are the pictures of the home up to date?

We already take care the issues. Everything is in order now.When we got to the house it was a totally different story. This house was a complete mess, filthy, with holes everywhere. There were dirty dishes put up as clean and here is a list of things wrong with the house:
Electrical sockets broken
Hole in the bathroom door
Broken desk
Clorox spilled on carpet
Trash in the garage
Dirty/dusty ceiling fan-master
Big hole in master closet
Everyone room needs painting
Broken ping pun table one leg held up with a book
No broom to sweep
Curtains and blinds broken
Curtains held back with tacks
Refrigerated dripping water
Broken refrigerator door held together with tape
Kids bedroom bed broken
Kitchen drawer broken
Hole behind door entrance
Wash room ceiling
I then sent her an email of all the pictures and asked her why did she tell me that the holes were fixed and they were not. She then proceeded to lie and tell me that she didn't know about the holes. When it clearly states on the website that there are holes present in January 2013. She had someone from her property management come over. Her name was Brittany. She was the assistant manager. She stated that the owner knows about the issues but she would take pictures and send it to her again to refresh her memory. I said wait a minute so she is aware of these issues right. Then there was silence...........Brittany would not say anymore but continued to take picutures.
I contacted Mary and told her I wanted a partial refund. Mary told me that she was not refunding me anything and I could, just get out of her house. I told her that I was not leaving because we already paid for the home. I then contacted Paypal and opened a case. Then Mary began to send me threatening emails saying that if I did not leave and close the case with PayPal she would call the police and have me removed. Here is the email:

As of now (6:51pm, 4/14/2014), the case you opened with paypal are still not closed. If you do not close the case right now, I will have to report this to PayPal and the sheriff office, and you will have to leave immediately.

So I then contacted the sheriff department and spoke to Deputy Latino and let him know of the issues I was having. I was told that she could not throw me out and if she continues to threaten me to call back. She emailed me for two days about leaving. But I never responded to her emails and she finally quit emailing me.
Please google her name Mary Xu and look up all her negative reviews. She has 8 houses. The ones that report a negative review basically reports the same thing. She even has roaches in one of her houses and black mold. We have been coming to Florida for spring break for 10 years. This is the worse house I have ever stayed in. I didn't do my research on her before I paid the $200 deposit. After I paid the deposit that is when I saw the bad review on this particular home. Then when I asked her if it was fixed and she said yes I then took her word. I didn't find out about all her other negative reviews until after we got to the house and I opened up a case on her after doing a google search. I would have never rented from her if I knew then what I know now. I learned my lesson. I will google every owner in the future before I book.
