Wow, I don't even know where to start with this quagmire, but I will keep it short and to the point. Back in May we had a Burglary Ring strike our neighborhood. It is an upper class neighborhood, and there were three homes that were hit in a row. The thieves made off pretty well for only 20 minutes worth of work. Fearing for our lives they would come back (because they saw something they attempted to steal, but weren't able to take), our family decided to get an 8 channel CCTV system installed.
Marvin, the owner understood the dangers we could potentially face, so he agreed to get us installed and set up at $1600 for his "premium Package". After the installation was almost done, for some reason one of his installers with his pants hanging off his ass decided to share with me that he just got released from jail for B&E.
Anyways said he would come back the next day to install the lights, fix the other cameras, and show me how everything works. He did come back, two weeks later! 1 week later, the criminals came back to our home and struck at a surrounding neighbor's home. I went to check the footage hoping this would help the police identify the possible suspects, and the system said, "File Not Found." I shouted WTF? Upon further inspection of the equipment, I discovered THERE WAS NO HARD DRIVE IN THE DVR! With such a rookie mistake for someone who has been doing this for years, I confronted him about the issue and simply requested a negotiation of some type of reasonable credit, but he could care less about any of it.
Nothing was professional or timely about this whole deal and my family's safety was relying on an adequate camera system being properly installed incase of another burglary, Home Invasion, or even MURDER! You don't have to watch the news every single day to see all the craziness going on. If you are interested in getting CCTV installed, go with someone reputable, not the bozos at Maiden Security.
