we have lived at Madison Highlands for 5 months. This place has old outdated appliances. Old cabinets that use to be tan? But now are pinkish. the yards are full of holes and grass is so high you can not see snakes or anything else that my bite. there are big holes too. You are in trouble trying to walk your dog here. Poop everywhere. I had foot reconstructive surgery on my foot last May and I am so afraid of falling in this holes. The fencing around the complex is leaning almost to the ground and where there is wood, people have removed the wood thrown them to the ground with nails up to where you could step on them. There are window screens laying on the ground toren up and no one does anything about it. There is dog poop everywhere. In the winter there was so much ice that you had to pray that you made it to your apartment without braking your neck! When it rains, the rain stands for days after the rain is gone! This leads to mosquitos and other bugs. The are large rats some are dead, thanks to all the farrow cats. I have had to call animal control twice because of stray pit bulls and German Shepards. People even whip human feces on the walls in the breezeway! Our small dog of 12lbs. Was attacked twice by a 65lb boxer. Last time he was in the hospital for two nights with tubes around his neck. We thought he would die. I have been swiping our breezeway because of the filth that surrounds our doors. My husband went a bought a blower so that he could blow it out instead of me having to sweep. Now, thanks to a nice neighborhood, we have had the opportunity to see their throw away love seat, sofa and nasty mattress at the dumpster which is right in front of our apartment! I have called, emailed and Facebook them with no one calling are anything! I wish we could just moved. I am so afraid that someone we know will come see us and think that we leave in the ghetto.
I've been at this property for 4 yrs& I have not had any problems yet, thank god. And thank god for Management, Asst. Management, &leasing management, &all other property workers, with all the calls they get, it does take time too get things done.
Nobody believes me when I tell them what happened to me at Carriage Place Apartments managed by Lynd property management company. During a time when LYND property management was the major sponser for a program for homeless veterans indorsed by the Mayor of Houston they went to great legths to deny my rights and threw me out of my apartment over a water bill.
At that time they taped or placed a water bill on your door and being new I did not see it on my door it must have been blown away by the wind because it was stuffed in the door or taped on the door. When the office notified me that I owed a water bill I told them I would have to pay it on my next pay day, they said no problem but the next thing I knew I had a bill from the office for over $1000 (one thousand dollors) in late fee's because they told me that since I did not pay the water bill the automatically deducted it out of my rent which left me owing late fee's.
To make a long story short I fought them in court for and won one battle after several months of fighting defending myself but the judge fooled me and did not award me any damages just told me I won (matter of court record) but did not grant me the damages I requested, that is when I found out how crooked the court system is against renters. I was left homeless and they ruined my credit and life I could not get a new apartment for a long time because of the eviction and at one point had to sleep in my car and had a large amount of money that was a judgment against me. I could go on and on it is a long very sad story. That should not happen to a dog let alone a veteran. The Mistreated Veteran
