I purchased two Ragdoll kittens from We Love Ragdolls in Longville, La. One of the kittens couldn't be shipped because she had a respiratory ailment. So, I picked another kitten that was shipped later. Both kittens came in soaking wet, no water in their dish because it had spilled over into the carrier and on them.
They were suppose to be shipped with a bag of food, which neither had. The first kitten came in with a respiratory problem and the second kitten has a serious infection in her body. The vet bills are over $600 so far and the cattery will only reinverse me 25% of the cost of the kitten.
I foolishly purchased a munckin kitten from them, prior to these vet bills, which has not shipped yet. I am very upset with these people getting away with selling sick kittens. If I had known that this cattery had prior complaints, I would not have purchased kittens from them. Beware...............
6/27 Kitten arrived from We Love Ragdolls (WLR) via plane. She was coughing and sneezing. She was 3 months old and weighed less than 2 pounds. Called WLR and told them she was sick. They said she was 100 percent that morning--that there was nothing to worry about.
Over the weekend kitten got much worse. 6/30 took kitten to the vet. They gave her a shot.
7/3 Kitten was barely alive. Vet rechecked her and put her back on another antibiotic.
7/10 Kitten was rechecked and was still sick. Vet left her on the antibiotic.
7/20 Kitten's right eye was glued together. Vet put her on eye drops and another antibiotic. He also sent a culture to Auburn University (AU) so they could determine exactly what the kitten had. I called WLR and begged them to tell me what she had. They said they had no idea because none of the other cats were sick. My vet's office also called the vet who works with WLR and told them that a kitten they approved for shipping was deathly sick.
8/8 AU diagnosed the kitten with Bordetellosis. This is a highly contagious disease and is resistant to antibiotics. My vet told me that the only way my kitten could have gotten this disease was in the WLR Cattery -- prior to her being shipped. Kitten was placed back on antibiotics and was also diagnosed with hookworms. After completing this round of antibiotics, another culture was sent to AU.
9/9 AU results were that kitten still has Bordetellosis. Therefore, switched to a different antibiotic.
10/2 Sent another culture to AU.
10/20 Culture came back once again positive for Bordetellosis. Kitten was placed on 2 antibiotics.
11/4 Sent another culture to AU. Are currently waiting on the results.
During this time, my vet and I both contacted WLR and their vet who approves shipment of kittens. They both were well aware that my kitten had been diagnosed with Bordetellosis. From all the complaints regarding WLR that have been posted well after we made them aware of this illness, it is apparent they continued to ship kittens -- even though they knew that my kitten was in their Louisiana cattery with Bordetellosis.
When I called the vet for WLR, I talked to one of his assistants. He told me that all they do prior to shipping a WLR kitten is take their temperature and give them a rabies shot.
WLR has ignored me for days and even weeks at a time. They always tell my vet and me that faxes we send them are not coming through -- even though we both have documentation that they did go through. They have told me that they did not receive an email -- even though they responded back to me on that email. I also believe they have my phone number blocked or somehow flagged so they never answer when I call them.
To date, they owe me $607 for medications and other procedures that have been performed by my vet due to the kitten's sickness. They finally agreed to pay $68 for the very first shot the kitten received on 6/30. Because she was not immediately diagnosed with Bordetellosis within 3 days after I received her, WLR stated that all other treatments she has had are not covered under their health guarantee.
Bought a kitten from them and it arrived with a severe infestation of ear mites, ear infection and a really bad upper respiratory infection. My kitten was in bad shape, vet said it had been neglected. Very upsetting to me, but at least he is getting proper care and love now. I would have gotten a healthier kitten from the animal shelter.
This purchaser needs to be made aware of the 11/7/14 post on scam.org. We Love Ragdolls was informed they had shipped a kitten infected with Bordetellosis prior to shipping the kitten to this purchaser. Therefore, they knew they had a very contagious disease in their cattery.
Well my experience with this company is bad so far i just got my ragdoll kitten on July 25 2014. The kitten was flown out to me by airplane. So we arrive at the airport to pick kitten up me and my wife are excited to get our. New kitten. The kitten finally came to check in counter the cat was wet from it's water tray that was connected to the carrier the cat was crying sneezing. So when we got to the car I quickly took the cat out of the carrier to dry her off then then at that time I noticed she was real underweight bony feeling had a upper respitory infection. So the next day I made a vet appointment to check health of the kitten and the vet confirmed the cat had upper respitory infection before I got the cat and also the vet confirmed the cat was underweight the kitten weighed 1.25 at 9 weeks old so I took my cat to the vet again in august to check for leukemia and (fiv) cat aids
All I have to say to sum this up is if you've bought a ragdoll kitten from these people recently or in the past make sure you Do the FIV test to check for cat aids we love ragdolls swears there cats are FiV negative which is the problem my kitten gave a false positive for the FIV virus doesn't mean much yet but raises some concern until they run a better test on her blood. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$So help me if My cat has FIV I it would be real devastating to find out so please people have your cats checked .
It is obvious to me that in view of recent complaints, Jessica Perry has changed her website from weloveragdolls.com to loveragdollcats.com. It is the exact same business with the same possibly sick kittens for sale. I received a sick kitten from her when she was weloveragdolls.com as have many other people.
