A con man is loose and wreaking havoc among trusting investors. Louie (Johnny) McAlpine of Fairfax OK purported to be an oil expert and along with his wife Cindy have perpetrated a fraud on investors and is actively trying to sabotage the investments HE sold them.
McAlpine sold investors 25 shares in 4 Limited Liability Partnerships in Wagoner County that were disclosed as "Low Risk Development Drilling Projects in the Wilcox Sand" Using unregistered brokers, he assembled about 35 investors to drill wells and blew through the investment funds without creating even one well that met the minimum number of barrels of oil per day that were in his disclosure document (out of 16 planned).
Knowing that the development was a bust, he gave ownership of the operating company, Secure Operations Group, to an oil field guy who didn't really know what he was getting into. McAlpine then did everything he could to shut down the project. He placed liens on the property and tried to shut down any payments from oil production. The investors had to hire lawyers to get the illegal liens removed.
He also enticed investors to invest in a horizontal oil well - for which he took out over $800,000 in cash for himself. He had arranged it so his company, White Buffalo Petroleum provided the well and before any drilling occured, he bought equipment and paid himself handsomely. No well was ever drilled and the partners are facing a 100% loss of their funds. It appears now that he didn't even own the rights to drill the well.
I could go on. Lots of other scams have been uncovered including the outright theft of funds in one particularly odious deal. Mr. McAlpine is a convicted felon - spent 4 years in prison for doing this exact same thing. Do an online search and you'll find references to his many misdeeds.
If this man approaches you to invest in his latest venture, run away fast. If he tries to sell you property or an oil lease, be very, very wary. He may not even own the property or the lease. Those who trusted him have been severely punished. Don't join this large crowd of unhappy investors.
Like all good con men he's personable and "down home" folksy. Behind that facade lurks the heart of a clever con who is clearly only interested in getting his hands on your money or your property.
There are lawsuits in progress and probably police and SEC investigations. This is not a man to be trusted so do yourself a favour and move away quickly. Those of us who made an investment are now struggling to extricate ourselves from a mess created by this guy. The sad thing is that he effortlessly throws his own family "under the bus" in his nefarious schemes, using them as his shield.
McAlpine moans that he is dying from agent orange and his heart is literally falling from his chest and has to be supported by implants. I truly wonder if he even has a heart in there. I also wonder if law enforecement will catch up to him before he finally succumbs to his various conditions. I guess he feels he has nothing to lose.
His legacy will certainly be the wrath of people who he called friends and who trusted him. He will undoubtedly leave his family, particularly his wife Cindy McAlpine who fronted for him, a legacy of litigation and prosecution. Very sad.
